완주군가족센터(센터장 오인철)는 최근 구이 아마존 아쿠아파크에서 ‘느린 학습자 아동’을 양육하는 가족을 대상으로 물놀이 체험과 가족 놀이 활동을 진행했다.

‘느린 학습자’는 지능지수(IQ) 70~85의 경계선 지능 아동뿐 아니라 또래보다 학습에 어려움을 겪는 아동을 포괄하며, 우리나라 전체 인구의 약 13.59%에 해당한다.

이번 프로그램은 정서적·사회적 부담을 겪고 있는 양육 가정에 쉼과 소통의 기회를 제공하고, 가족 간 긍정적인 관계 형성을 돕기 위해 마련됐다. 가족 협동 놀이를 시작으로 아쿠아파크 물놀이 체험까지 이어지며 즐거움과 휴식을 함께 제공했다.

오인철 센터장은 “이번 프로그램은 아동의 사회성 향상과 가족 정서 응집력에 중점을 뒀다”며 “가족이 함께 웃고 소통하는 따뜻한 기억이 되길 바란다”고 전했다.

한편, 완주군가족센터는 맞춤형 교육, 문화·체험 프로그램, 가족상담 등을 통해 다양한 가족의 건강한 삶을 지원하고 있다.

'Slow learners' encompass children who have difficulty learning compared to their peers, not just those with borderline intelligence quotient (IQ) of 70-85, and account for approximately 13.59% of the total population in South Korea.

This program was designed to provide a break and communication opportunities for families facing emotional and social burdens, aiming to facilitate the formation of positive relationships within the family. Starting with family cooperative play, the program continued with water play experiences at the Aqua Park, providing enjoyment and relaxation together.

Director Oh In-cheol emphasized, "This program focuses on enhancing the child's social skills and family emotional cohesion," and expressed hope that "it becomes a warm memory where families laugh and communicate together."

Meanwhile, Wanju Family Center supports various families' healthy lives through tailored education, cultural and experiential programs, and family counseling.
