대한민국에서 가장 많은 무형유산을 보유한 전주를 주무대로 활동 중인 주요 무형유산 보유자의 장인정신을 엿볼 수 있는 특별한 전시가 마련됐다.

전주시는 18일부터 오는 10월 25일까지 전주한옥마을 내 하얀양옥집(완산구 경기전길 67)에서 전북특별자치도 무형유산 기능보유자의 작품과 삶을 조명하는 전시 ‘백년일로(百年一路)’​를 개최한다.

이번 전시는 1부와 2부로 나뉘어 진행되며, 무형유산 기능보유자 19명이 참여해 각 종목의 전통 기법과 장인정신이 담긴 작품을 선보인다.

먼저 18일부터 오는 10월 6일까지 진행되는 1부 전시에서는 △김종연(민속목조각장) △김혜미자(색지장) △박갑순(지호장) △변경환(전주배첩장) △신애자(침선장) △엄재수(선자장) △이의식(옻칠장) △이종덕(방짜유기장) △최대규(전주나전장) △최성일(지장)의 작품을 만날 수 있다.

이어 10월 9일부터 25일까지 진행되는 2부 전시에는 △김선애(지승장) △김선자(매듭장) △김한일(야장) △박계호(선자장) △방화선(선자장) △신우순(단청장) △이명복(사기장) △조정형(향토술담기) △최병용(악기장)의 작품이 전시된다.

특히 이번 전시에서는 민속목조각장 김종연의 ‘십장생 필통’, 지승장 김선애의 ‘투각 달항아리’, 매듭장 김선자의 ‘비취 발향 노리개’, 침선장 신애자의 ‘이응해 철릭’, 전주배첩장 변경환의 ‘자연 염색 필첩’, 선자장 방화선의 ‘연월선’, 악기장 최병용의 ‘거문고’ 등 다양한 작품을 통해 전통공예의 섬세함과 독창적인 아름다움을 감상할 수 있다.

이와 관련 ‘백년일로’는 전주시 무형유산 기능보유자 공개행사의 일환으로 매년 장인들의 삶과 작품세계를 소개해 온 행사다. 전라감영과 어진박물관에 이어 올해는 하얀양옥집을 무대로 삼아 전주의 다양한 문화공간에서 전통 무형유산의 가치를 시민과 공유한다.

시는 기능보유자 전시에 이어 전주시 무형유산 예능보유자와 단체의 공연도 이어갈 계획이다.

오는 11월 11일부터 12일까지 한국소리문화의전당 명인홀에서 열리는 공연에는 판소리와 가야금산조, 시조창, 가곡, 예기무, 호남산조춤, 전라삼현승무, 영산작법, 전주기접놀이 등 22개 예능보유자 및 단체가 참여해 전주의 전통예술을 선보일 예정이다.

이성순 전주시 문화체육관광국장은 “이번 행사를 통해 전주시 무형유산이 지닌 깊이와 아름다움을 시민들이 가까이에서 느끼고, 전통문화의 가치가 다음 세대까지 이어지는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

A special exhibition has been prepared where visitors can catch a glimpse of the spirit of craftsmanship of the major holders of intangible cultural heritage in Jeonju, which holds the most intangible cultural heritage in South Korea.

Starting from the 18th, Jeonju City will host the exhibition 'Baeknyeon-illo (百年一路)' at Hwahyeon Yangok House in Jeonju Hanok Village (67 Gyeonggijeon-gil, Wansan-gu) until October 25th, shedding light on the works and lives of the intangible cultural heritage holders in Jeollabuk-do.

The exhibition is divided into two parts, with 19 intangible cultural heritage holders participating to showcase works embodying traditional techniques and craftsmanship in each field.

The first part of the exhibition, running from the 18th to October 6th, will feature works by Kim Jong-yeon (folk wood carving), Kim Hye-mi-ja (dyeing), Park Gap-soon (bamboo weaving), Byun Gyeong-hwan (traditional Korean paper making), Shin Ae-ja (embroidery), Yeom Jae-soo (bamboo hat making), Lee Ui-sik (lacquerware), Lee Jong-deok (bamboo craft), Choi Dae-gyu (traditional Korean ceramics), and Choi Seong-il (bamboo weaving).

The second part of the exhibition, from October 9th to 25th, will showcase works by Kim Seon-ae (bamboo weaving), Kim Seon-ja (knotting), Kim Han-il (roof tile making), Park Gye-ho (bamboo hat making), Bang Hwa-seon (bamboo hat making), Shin Woo-soon (indigo dyeing), Lee Myeong-bok (pottery), Jo Jeong-hyeong (traditional liquor brewing), and Choi Byeong-yong (musical instrument making).

Especially in this exhibition, visitors can appreciate the delicacy and unique beauty of traditional crafts through various works such as 'Ten Scholar's Pencil Case' by Kim Jong-yeon, 'Two-Handled Moon Jar' by Kim Seon-ae, 'Jade Scented Incense Burner' by Kim Seon-ja, 'Iron Inkstone' by Shin Ae-ja, 'Natural Dyed Bamboo Hat' by Byun Gyeong-hwan, 'Yeonwol Line' by Bang Hwa-seon, and 'Geomungo' by Choi Byeong-yong.

The 'Baeknyeon-illo' event is part of Jeonju City's public event for intangible cultural heritage holders, introducing the lives and artistic worlds of craftsmen annually. Following the Jeolla Gamyeong and Eojin Museum, this year, various cultural spaces in Jeonju will share the value of traditional intangible cultural heritage with citizens, using Hwahyeon Yangok House as the stage.

The city plans to continue with performances by intangible cultural heritage performers and groups following the exhibition of the holders.

From November 11th to 12th, at the Hall of Masters in the Korean Sound Culture Hall, 22 performers and groups, including pansori, gayageum sanjo, poetry singing, songs, mask dance, Honam sanjo dance, Jeolla Samhyeonseungmu dance, Yeongsan Jakbeop, and Jeonju Gijeopnori, will showcase Jeonju's traditional arts.

Jeonju City's Director of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Lee Seong-soon, said, "Through this event, we hope that citizens can feel the depth and beauty of Jeonju's intangible cultural heritage up close, and that the value of traditional culture will be passed on to the next generation."
