후반 시작과 함께 이랜드는 변화를 가져갔다. 브루노 실바, 변경준, 채광훈을 투입하며 공격에 무게를 더했다. 이랜드는 후반 3분 코너킥 상황에서 오스마르가 헤더로 동점골을 기록하며 경기를 원점으로 돌렸다.
하지만 전북은 흔들리지 않았다. 후반 38분 김태환이 오른쪽 측면에서 올린 크로스를 전진우가 헤더로 연결하며 결승골을 터뜨렸다. 이후 전북은 5백으로 전환하며 안정적인 수비를 펼쳤고, 이랜드의 추격을 허용하지 않았다.
승강 플레이오프 2차전은 8일 오후 2시 20분 전주월드컵경기장에서 열린다.
Jeonbuk Hyundai has overcome the first hurdle towards staying in K League 1.
On the 1st, at 4 p.m., Jeonbuk defeated Seoul E-Land 2-1 with a decisive goal from Jeon Jin-woo, who was substituted in the second half, in the first leg of the Hana Bank K League 2024 promotion playoffs held at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul.
Jeonbuk lined up in a 4-4-2 formation. Tiago and Kim Jin-kyu were placed at the top, with Moon Seon-min, Lee Young-jae, Han Kook-young, and Kwon Chang-hoon forming the midfield. The defense line consisted of Kim Tae-hyun, Yeon Je-woon, Park Jin-seop, and Ahn Hyun-beom, with Kim Jun-hong guarding the goal.
E-Land countered with a 4-3-3 formation. Montaño, Kim Shin-jin, and Lee Jun-seok were placed at the front, with Park Min-seok, Baek Ji-woong, and Seo Jae-min in the midfield. The defense line consisted of Lee In-jae, Osmar, Kim Oh-kyu, and Kim Min-kyu, with Moon Jung-in as the goalkeeper.
From the beginning of the match, the two teams fiercely competed. Jeonbuk aimed for goals with Kwon Chang-hoon's shot and Park Jin-seop's header in the 6th and 7th minute corner kick situations.

Afterwards, Jeonbuk switched to a five-back formation and played a stable defense, not allowing E-Land's pursuit.
