전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기)이 전주시민을 대상으로 전통 한지의 역사와 가치를 직접 체험할 수 있는 문화기행 프로그램 ‘전국팔도 한지기행’을 진행한다.

오는 4월 30일 전주천년한지관에서 진행되는 이번 기행은 전주에서 출발해 대전시립박물관을 방문하는 일정으로, 문화재 관람과 한지 관련 전시 체험이 이루어진 교육형 당일 프로그램이다.

주요 방문지인 대전시립박물관에서는 국가지정문화재 보물 제2105호로 지정된 ‘나신걸의 한글편지’를 관람할 예정이다. 이 편지는 현존하는 가장 오래된 한지 편지로, 15세기 한지 제작 기술이 고스란히 담겨 있는 귀중한 유물이다. 참가자들은 이 유물을 통해 전통 한지의 우수한 보존성과 제작 기법, 그리고 조선 시대의 문서문화에 대해 깊이 있는 이해를 얻을 수 있다.

이외에도 박물관에 전시된 한지 유물과 다양한 작품들을 둘러보며 한지의 용도, 기술, 예술적 가치를 함께 살펴보는 시간이 마련된다. 전통 종이로서의 한지를 넘어, 오늘날 문화유산으로서 한지가 지닌 의미를 재발견할 수 있는 뜻깊은 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다.

참가 신청은 12일부터 23일까지 전주천년한지관 누리집(jmhm.kr)에서 가능하며, 참가비는 1인당 2만 원이다. 참가비에는 교통비, 입장료, 식비(1식)가 포함되어 있어 시민들이 부담 없이 참여할 수 있도록 구성됐다. 행사에 대한 문의는 전주천년한지관(063-281-1635)으로 하면 된다.

‘전국팔도 한지기행’은 지난해에도 뮤지엄산, 국립중앙박물관, 해인사, 대장경 테마파크, 고인쇄박물관 등 다양한 지역을 탐방하며 성황리에 진행된 바 있다.

올해 프로그램 또한 시민들이 직접 보고, 듣고, 느끼는 방식으로 한지 문화에 대한 이해를 높이고, 나아가 지역 문화에 대한 자긍심을 심어주는 데 기여할 것으로 보인다.

전주문화재단 전주천년한지관은 국내 최대 규모의 한지 제조 시설을 갖춘 전통문화 거점 공간으로, 한지의 보존과 현대화를 위한 다양한 체험 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 이번 문화기행은 이런 노력의 연장선에서, 시민들이 전통과 현대가 공존하는 한지 문화를 직접 경험하는 특별한 계기를 제공한다.

Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) is conducting a cultural excursion program called 'Nationwide Hanji Journey' for Jeonju citizens to directly experience the history and value of traditional Hanji.

Scheduled to take place on April 30th at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum, this journey will depart from Jeonju and visit the Daejeon City Museum, offering an educational one-day program involving cultural heritage tours and Hanji-related exhibitions.

At the main destination, the Daejeon City Museum, participants will have the opportunity to view the 'Nashingeol's Hangul Letter,' designated as National Treasure No. 2105. This letter is the oldest existing Hanji letter, containing valuable artifacts showcasing 15th-century Hanji production techniques. Through this artifact, participants can gain a deep understanding of the excellent preservational qualities and production techniques of traditional Hanji, as well as the document culture of the Joseon Dynasty.

In addition, there will be time to explore various Hanji artifacts and artworks exhibited in the museum, allowing participants to examine the purposes, techniques, and artistic value of Hanji. It is expected to be a meaningful opportunity to rediscover the significance of Hanji as a cultural heritage beyond its traditional paper status, in today's cultural heritage context.

Registration for participation is available from the 12th to the 23rd at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum website (jmhm.kr), with a participation fee of 20,000 won per person. The fee includes transportation, admission fees, and a meal, making it convenient for citizens to participate without financial burden. 'Nationwide Hanji Journey' successfully explored various regions such as Museum San, the National Museum of Korea, Haeinsa Temple, Daejanggyeong Theme Park, and the Korean Printing Museum last year.

This year's program is expected to contribute to enhancing public understanding of Hanji culture through firsthand observation, listening, and experiencing, fostering pride in local culture.

The Jeonju Cultural Foundation's Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum is a traditional cultural hub space equipped with the largest Hanji manufacturing facility in Korea, operating various experiential programs for the preservation and modernization of Hanji. This cultural excursion, as an extension of these efforts, provides citizens with a special opportunity to directly experience the coexistence of traditional and modern Hanji culture.
