전북특별자치도립미술관(이애선)은 오는 4월 25일부터 10월 26일까지 전시형 교육 프로그램《아이스크림 똥》展을 개최한다. 도립미술관은 2023년부터 매년 전시, 체험, 배움을 융합한 새로운 형식의 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 있으며, 이번《아이스크림 똥》展은 세 번째 전시형 교육 프로그램이다.

《아이스크림 똥》展은 우리가 일상에서 무심코 구분하는‘좋아하는 것’과‘싫어하는 것’의 감정이 선천적인 것인지 아니면 사회적으로 학습된 것인지에 대한 질문에서 출발한다.

이번 전시는 관람자가 직접 보고, 경험하고, 스스로 질문하며 참여할 수 있는 전시형 교육 프로그램이다. 특히 어린이와 가족 단위 관람객이 혐오와 추앙의 감정에 대해 토론하고 고민할 수 있도록 전시장은 세 가지 주제 구역으로 구성되었다.

첫 번째 구역 <달콤한 아이스크림>은‘완벽함’,‘사랑스러움’등 긍정적인 단어로 구성되었다. 두 번째 구역 <더러운 똥>은 거대한 똥 조형물이 주는 불편한 감정에 대해 질문하는 공간이다. 세 번째 구역 <똥 아이스크림>은 똥과 아이스크림이 뒤섞인 가운데 이 두 감정 사이의 경계를 새롭게 바라보는 시각을 제시한다.

작가 신민(1985~)은 맥도널드와 스타벅스 등 프랜차이즈 근무 경험을 바탕으로, 저임금․고강도 서비스직에 종사하는 노동자의 현실을 다뤄왔다. 전북도립미술관은 2024년 특별전에 출품된 <주문하신 소프트콘 두 개>에서 영감을 받아 감정과 혐오에 대한 주제를 어린이와 가족 관람객이 함께 경험하고 고민할 수 있도록 이번 전시를 기획했다.

전시와 함께 다양한 체험 프로그램도 마련되어 있다. 전시실 내부에는 질문 카드를 통해 감정과 인식의 형성 과정을 돌아보는 상설 체험 프로그램 <달콤함과 더러움 사이에서>가 운영된다. 또한 감정을 시각적으로 표현하는 어린이 대상의 그림 그리기 프로그램 <내 머리 위의 아이스크림 똥>, 감정의 경계를 조형으로 표현하는 단체 프로그램 <이상한 아이스크림 가게> 등 다양한 연계 프로그램을 통해, 전시의 문제의식을 관람자 각자의 경험으로 확장하고자 한다.

아울러 4월 26일(토) 오후 2시부터 3시까지 미술관 야외정원에서는 다원 예술 프로그램 <소리를 그리다>가 진행된다. 이 프로그램은 미술뿐만 아니라 음악, 공연 등 다양한 예술 장르와의 협업을 통해 관람객에게 풍성한 예술적 경험을 제공하고자 기획되었으며, 누구나 자유롭게 참여할 수 있다.

The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Art Museum (Lee Ae-sun) will be hosting an exhibition-style educational program titled "Ice Cream Poop" from April 25th to October 26th. The provincial art museum has been developing a new format of educational programs that integrate exhibitions, experiences, and learning starting from 2023, and this "Ice Cream Poop" exhibition is the third exhibition-style educational program.

The "Ice Cream Poop" exhibition starts with the question of whether the emotions we casually distinguish as 'likes' and 'dislikes' in our daily lives are innate or socially learned.

This exhibition is a form of educational program where visitors can directly see, experience, question themselves, and participate. In particular, the exhibition space is divided into three thematic areas to allow children and families to discuss and contemplate feelings of disgust and admiration.

The first area, "Sweet Ice Cream," is composed of positive words like 'perfection' and 'loveliness.' The second area, "Dirty Poop," is a space that questions the uncomfortable emotions brought about by a large poop sculpture. The third area, "Poop Ice Cream," presents a new perspective on the boundary between these two emotions intertwined with poop and ice cream.

Artist Shin Min (1985~), drawing from experiences working at franchises like McDonald's and Starbucks, has addressed the reality of low-wage and high-intensity service jobs. Inspired by the special exhibition "Two Soft Serves Ordered" exhibited in 2024, the Jeonbuk Provincial Art Museum planned this exhibition to allow children and family visitors to experience and contemplate emotions and disgust together.

Along with the exhibition, various experiential programs are also available. A permanent experiential program called "Between Sweetness and Dirt," where visitors reflect on the formation process of emotions and perceptions through question cards, will be operated within the exhibition hall. Additionally, there are various linked programs such as a drawing program for children called "Ice Cream Poop Above My Head" expressing emotions visually, and a group program "Strange Ice Cream Shop" expressing emotional boundaries through sculpture, aiming to expand the awareness of the exhibition's issues through the personal experiences of visitors.

Furthermore, on April 26th (Saturday) from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, the outdoor garden of the art museum will host a multi-art program called "Drawing Sounds." This program was planned to provide visitors with a rich artistic experience through collaboration with various art genres including music, performances, and not just visual arts, and is open for anyone to freely participate.
