전라북도완주교육지원청(교육장 김난희)은 지역 이해와 애향심을 높이기 위한 ‘우리고장 완주사랑 프로젝트’ 마을답사 활동을 지난 19일부터 본격 운영 중이라고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 프로젝트는 오는 7월 말까지 완주 관내 초·중학교 20개교, 700여 명의 학생과 교사가 참여해 완주의 역사·문화·생태 등을 직접 체험하는 지역 밀착형 교육활동이다. 특히 초등학교 사회과와 중학교 역사 교과과정과 연계돼 실생활 중심의 지역화 교육을 실현한다는 점에서 의미가 크다.

완주교육지원청은 송광사, 위봉산성, 웅치전적지, 삼례문화예술촌 등 6개 코스를 마련했으며, 역사문화 답사와 더불어 한지·도자기·비누 만들기, 생태 및 안전교육 체험 등 다양한 활동도 함께 운영된다.

지난 4월 19일에는 교직원을 대상으로 한 사전 답사가 진행돼 웅치전적지, 되재성당, 이치대첩비각 등을 방문하며 교육적 이해를 높였다. 5월부터는 학생 대상 본격 운영에 들어가며, 문화해설사와 함께 지역 자원을 생생히 배우는 시간을 갖게 된다.

김난희 교육장은 “이번 활동을 통해 학생들이 우리 고장 완주에 대한 자긍심을 키우고, 지역사회 구성원으로서의 공동체 의식을 함양하길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

The Wanju Education Support Office in Jeollabuk-do (Director of Education Kim Nan-hee) announced on the 23rd that the "Our Hometown Wanju Love Project," aimed at enhancing local understanding and affection, has been in full operation since the 19th.

This project is a locally tailored educational activity where until the end of July, 20 elementary and middle schools in Wanju, with over 700 students and teachers, will directly experience Wanju's history, culture, and ecology. It is significant in that it realizes a regionally focused education linked to the elementary school social studies and middle school history curriculum, emphasizing real-life experiences.

The Wanju Education Support Office has prepared six courses including Songgwangsa Temple, Wibongsanseong Fortress, Ungchi Battlefield, and Samnye Cultural Arts Village. In addition to historical and cultural visits, various activities such as making traditional Korean paper, pottery, soap, ecological and safety education experiences are also being conducted.

On April 19th, a preliminary visit was conducted for the faculty, visiting places like the Ungchi Battlefield, Deojae Cathedral, and the Monument of the Battle of Ichida, enhancing educational understanding. Starting from May, the main operation targeting students will begin, allowing them to learn about local resources vividly with cultural interpreters.

Director Kim Nan-hee stated, "Through this activity, I hope students will foster pride in our hometown Wanju and cultivate a sense of community as members of the local society."
