전북특별자치도익산교육지원청(교육장 정성환)이 다문화가정 학부모와 학생들을 위한 포용적이고 지속 가능한 통합 교육지원 체계를 본격적으로 운영한다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 통합지원은 지난 8일 진행된 다문화가정 학부모 간담회의 후속 조치로, △익산시가족센터와의 업무협약 체결 △다문화 통역사 위촉 △학교 교육과정 통역 컨설팅 등의 핵심 사업이 추진된다.

익산교육지원청은 지난 21일 익산시가족센터와 업무협약(MOU)을 체결해, 교육·복지 자원을 연계한 맞춤형 통역·번역 서비스 및 교육 지원을 약속했다. 이어 22일 미륵초등학교에서 열린 다문화 통역사 위촉식에서는 공식 전담 통역사를 위촉하고, 지속 가능한 통역 지원 체계 구축을 위한 후속 간담회도 함께 진행됐다.

5월부터는 영어에 능통한 초등교사들이 협력 교사로 참여해 학사 일정 안내, 생활 지도 상담 등 학교 현장에서의 실질적인 통역 지원도 시작된다. 이를 통해 다문화 학부모의 교육정보 접근성을 높이고, 자녀의 학교 적응과 성장에 실질적 도움을 줄 계획이다.

정성환 교육장은 “다문화는 이제 우리 교육의 일상”이라며 “학교와 지역사회가 함께 협력해 모든 아이들이 존중받으며 성장할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Iksan Office of Education Support (Education Superintendent Jung Seong-hwan) announced on the 23rd that it will actively operate an inclusive and sustainable integrated education support system for multicultural families and students.

This integrated support follows up on a multicultural family parent meeting held on the 8th, with key projects such as △ signing a business agreement with the Iksan Family Center △ appointing multicultural interpreters △ consulting on school curriculum interpretation being pursued.

On the 21st, the Iksan Office of Education Support signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Iksan Family Center, promising tailored interpretation and translation services and education support by linking education and welfare resources. Then, on the 22nd, at the multicultural interpreter appointment ceremony held at Mireuk Elementary School, official dedicated interpreters were appointed, and a follow-up meeting was held to establish a sustainable interpretation support system.

Starting in May, elementary school teachers proficient in English will participate as cooperating teachers to provide practical interpretation support on school premises, such as academic schedule guidance and lifestyle counseling. Through this, the plan is to increase the accessibility of educational information for multicultural parents, and provide practical assistance for their children's school adaptation and growth.

Education Superintendent Jung Seong-hwan stated, "Multiculturalism is now a part of our everyday education," and expressed, "We will continuously support all children to be respected and grow by cooperating between schools and local communities."
