제26회 전주국제영화제(공동집행위원장 민성욱·정준호)가 일반 예매 오픈 동시에 역대 최고 예매율을 기록했다.

지난 18일 오전 11시에 시작된 일반 예매는 오픈 후 현재(25일 오후 5시 기준), 전체 판매분의 85% 이상이 예매됐다. 이는 좌석 거리두기로 매우 한정된 좌석을 운영했던 코로나19 팬데믹 시기를 제외하면 역대 전주국제영화제 중 최고 예매 수치이며, 전년 대비 약 26.8% 증가했다.

현재 73편(단편 묶음 상영 포함)의 작품이 전 회차가 매진됐으며, 개막식은 단 2분 38초 만에 매진, 일부 상영 회차는 예매 오픈 10초만에 매진되며 영화 팬들의 뜨거운 열기를 증명했다.

올해의 프로그래머로 참여하는 이정현 배우의 J 스페셜클래스, 그리고 박지환, 서현우, 차우민, 차정우, 이찬형 배우가 함께하는 전주씨네투어X마중 마중 초이스 프로그램 역시 전 회차 매진을 기록했다. 이 외에도 배창호 감독, 페드루 코스타 감독, 크리스토퍼 페팃 감독, 몬세 트리올라 프로듀서가 참여하는 마스터클래스를 비롯한 영화로의 여행, 영특한 대화, 라이브 필름 퍼포먼스, 전주톡톡 등 전주국제영화제만의 독창적인 프로그램도 매진 행렬을 이어가며 국내외 영화팬들의 높은 기대를 반영했다. 특히 1,000석 규모의 전북대 삼성문화회관은 2층 좌석까지 추가 오픈했음에도 불구하고 이미 3회차가 매진, 다수의 상영회차가 매진을 앞두고 있다.

다만, 실시간 예매 취소가 가능해 매진된 작품이더라도 상영 10분 전까지 예매가 가능하다. 티켓이 예매하지 못했더라도 영화의거리와 관광거점도시 전주시 전역에서 무료 야외 상영이 다채롭게 진행돼, 전주국제영화제를 찾은 관객들과 전주 시민들 누구나 편하게 참여할 수 있다. 특히 올해는 5월 2일부터 6일까지 조선시대 핵심 문화유산인 전라감영 서편부지에서 ‘조선팝’ 공연과 영화 상영이 결합된 ‘전주씨네투어X산책’ 프로그램이 마련돼, 색다른 문화 경험을 선사한다. 또한 전주 부성길과 영화의거리 일대에서 소규모로 진행되던 골목상영도 전년도 뜨거운 반응에 힘입어 전주시 전역으로 확대해 더욱 풍성하게 펼쳐진다.

전주국제영화제는 반드시 공식 홈페이지(https://www.jeonjufest.kr/)와 멜론 티켓(https://ticket.melon.com/) 및 현장 매표소 등 정해진 예매처에서만 예매해야 한다.

The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival (co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Joon-ho) set a record for the highest ticket sales in history as soon as general ticket sales opened.

General ticket sales, which began at 11 a.m. on the 18th, have currently sold over 85% of all tickets sold (as of 5 p.m. on the 25th). This is the highest ticket sales figure in the history of the Jeonju International Film Festival, excluding the limited seating operated during the COVID-19 pandemic period, and represents an increase of approximately 26.8% compared to the previous year.

Currently, 73 films (including short film packages) have sold out all screenings, with the opening ceremony selling out in just 2 minutes and 38 seconds, and some screening times selling out in just 10 seconds after ticket sales opened, proving the enthusiastic fervor of movie fans.

This year, the J Special Class by actor Lee Jung-hyun, participating as a programmer, as well as the Jeonju Cinema Tour X Majung Choice program featuring Park Ji-hwan, Seo Hyun-woo, Cha Woo-min, Cha Jung-woo, and Lee Chan-hyung, also recorded sold-out screenings for all sessions. In addition, unique programs of the Jeonju International Film Festival, such as a master class with directors Bae Chang-ho, Pedro Costa, Christopher Fett, and producer Monse Triola, as well as journeys into the world of film, special conversations, live film performances, and Jeonju Talk Talk, continued to sell out, reflecting high expectations from domestic and international film fans. Despite opening additional seating up to the second floor at the 1,000-seat capacity Samsung Cultural Center at Jeonbuk University, the third screening is already sold out, with many other screenings on the verge of selling out.

However, real-time ticket cancellations are possible, so even for sold-out films, tickets can be reserved up to 10 minutes before the screening. Even for those who did not reserve tickets, free outdoor screenings are being held throughout Jeonju, a city known for its film culture and tourism, allowing both festival-goers and local residents to easily participate. Particularly this year, from May 2nd to 6th, a program called 'Jeonju Cinema Tour X Stroll' combining performances of 'Joseon Pop' at the Jeolla Gamyeong Seopyeon Site, a core cultural heritage site from the Joseon Dynasty, with film screenings, offers a unique cultural experience. Additionally, alley screenings that were previously held on a small scale in the Jeonju Busungil and Film Street areas have been expanded citywide due to the warm response from the previous year, providing a richer experience.
