전북특별자치도의 명품 관광지인 완주군 삼례문화예술촌에서 지역작가 윤대라의 개인전 ‘양생원과 비키니소다’가 성황리에 진행되고 있다. 이번 전시는 삼례문화예술촌이 지역 문화예술인을 육성하기 위해 기획한 ‘지역작가전’ 시리즈의 세 번째 전시로, 오는 7월 8일까지 제3전시관에서 열린다.

윤대라 작가는 이번 전시를 통해 자신이 창조한 캐릭터 ‘양생원’과 ‘비키니소다’를 중심으로 삶과 존재에 대한 따뜻한 메시지를 전달한다. 이 두 존재는 작가의 예술세계 속에서 상호작용하며 은유적인 우주를 펼쳐 보인다.

비키니소다는 작가의 또 다른 자아이자 페르소나로, 수트를 입고 우주를 누비며 무지개빛 폭포를 만들고 꽃을 발사하는 유쾌한 캐릭터다. 성별과 규범, 고정된 역할을 벗어나 자유롭게 비상하는 존재로서, 현실을 향한 하나의 질문이기도 하다.

반면, 양생원은 작가가 실제로 함께 살아가는 고양이로, 가장 가까운 생명이자 뮤즈이며 세계를 감각하는 또 하나의 방식이다. 양생원은 우주를 유영하고 물속을 탐험하며 꽃다발을 들고 웃음을 짓는 존재로, 관람자에게 조용히 말을 건넨다.

윤 작가는 이 두 존재가 “서로를 비추고 경계를 넘나들며 다채롭고 유연한 하나의 세계를 만들어낸다”고 설명하며, 전시 전체가 “우리 안에 숨은 가능성과 함께 살아가는 기쁨, 자아와 타자에 대한 사랑의 이야기”라고 밝혔다.

전시는 설치미술을 중심으로 구성되어 어린이부터 어른까지 다양한 관람층이 공감하고 즐길 수 있도록 꾸며졌다. 생동감 넘치는 색채와 상상력으로 관람객들에게 삶의 작지만 소중한 기쁨을 일깨우는 작품들이 전시돼 있다.

윤대라 작가는 “관람객들이 내면에 숨겨진 가능성과 서로를 향한 따뜻한 사랑을 느끼길 바란다”며, “모든 세대가 함께 공감하고 즐길 수 있는 작품을 통해 삶의 작은 기쁨을 나누고 싶다”고 전했다.

완주군 유희태 군수는 “삼례문화예술촌을 명품 관광지로 성장시키기 위해 앞으로도 다양한 전시와 체험 프로그램을 지속 운영하겠다”며 “지역주민은 물론 방문객이 머물며 예술과 휴식을 함께 누릴 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 삼례문화예술촌은 올해 지역작가 6명을 선정해 2개월씩 릴레이 전시를 진행하고 있으며, 이번 윤대라 작가의 전시에 이어 박진영, 김성민, 백금자 작가의 전시가 연말까지 이어질 예정이다.

The solo exhibition of local artist Yoon Dae-ra, titled 'Yangsaengwon and Bikinisoda,' is currently being held successfully at Samsam Cultural and Arts Village in Wanju, North Jeolla Province. This exhibition, the third in the series of 'Local Artists Exhibition' planned by Samsam Cultural and Arts Village to nurture local cultural artists, will be open until July 8th at the 3rd exhibition hall.

Through this exhibition, artist Yoon Dae-ra conveys warm messages about life and existence centered around the characters 'Yangsaengwon' and 'Bikinisoda' that he has created. These two entities interact within the artist's artistic world, unfolding a metaphorical universe.

Bikinisoda is another persona of the artist, dressed in a suit, roaming the universe, creating rainbow waterfalls, and shooting flowers. It is a cheerful character that transcends gender, norms, and fixed roles, freely soaring beyond reality, also serving as a question towards reality.

On the other hand, Yangsaengwon is a cat that the artist actually lives with, the closest life and muse, another way to sense the world. Yangsaengwon floats in space, explores underwater, holds a bouquet of flowers, and smiles, quietly communicating with the audience.

Yoon explained that these two entities "illuminate each other, traverse boundaries, and create a diverse and flexible world together," stating that the entire exhibition is "a story of joy living with hidden potentials within us, love for oneself and others."

The exhibition is curated around installation art to resonate and be enjoyed by a diverse audience from children to adults. The artworks displayed are vibrant in color and imagination, awakening the small but precious joys of life for the viewers.

Yoon Dae-ra expressed his hope that "the audience will feel the warm love hidden within themselves and towards others," and stated, "I want to share the small joys of life through artworks that all generations can empathize and enjoy together."

Wanju County Mayor Yoo Hee-tae mentioned, "To develop Samsam Cultural and Arts Village into a premium tourist destination, we will continue to operate various exhibitions and experience programs in the future," adding, "We will ensure that both local residents and visitors can enjoy art and relaxation together."

Meanwhile, Samsam Cultural and Arts Village has selected six local artists this year to conduct two-month relay exhibitions, following Yoon Dae-ra's exhibition, exhibitions by artists Park Jin-young, Kim Sung-min, and Baek Geum-ja are scheduled to continue until the end of the year.
