군산시는 5월 20일 ‘군산시장애인편의증진기술지원센터’와 함께 대형마트 및 부설 주차장을 대상으로 장애인전용주차구역 민관 합동점검을 실시했다.

이번 점검은 주·정차 위반이 잦은 구역을 중심으로 진행됐으며, 장애인전용주차구역의 올바른 이용과 시민 인식 개선을 목적으로 마련됐다. 시는 단속과 함께 주차표지 미비 구역에 대해 관리자에게 시설 개선을 권고하고, 주차구역 표시 현행화에도 힘쓰고 있다.

시 관계자는 “이번 점검이 장애인 이동권 보장에 실질적으로 기여하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 필요한 구역의 정비를 통해 장애인 편의 증진과 시민 안전 확보에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 장애인전용주차구역 관련 위반 시 과태료는 일반 불법 주·정차 10만 원, 2면 이상 방해 시 50만 원, 주차표지 부당 사용 시 최대 200만 원이 부과된다. 관련 문의는 주소지 읍·면·동 행정복지센터에서 가능하다.

On May 20, Gunsan City conducted a joint inspection of designated parking spaces for people with disabilities at large supermarkets and their affiliated parking lots, in collaboration with the 'Gunsan Disability Convenience Enhancement Technology Support Center'.

The inspection focused on areas where illegal parking violations were frequent, aiming to promote proper use of designated parking spaces for people with disabilities and enhance public awareness. The city recommended facility improvements to the managers of areas with inadequate parking signs, in addition to efforts to update parking area markings.

An official from the city stated, "We hope that this inspection will contribute substantially to ensuring the mobility rights of people with disabilities," and added, "We will continue to work towards enhancing the convenience for people with disabilities and securing public safety through necessary area maintenance."

Regarding violations related to designated parking spaces for people with disabilities, fines are imposed as follows: 100,000 won for general illegal parking, 500,000 won for obstructing two or more spaces, and a maximum of 2 million won for unauthorized use of parking signs. Inquiries can be made at the local administrative welfare centers in each district.
