전북특별자치도는 20일 진안 데미샘자연휴양림에서 열린 산림문화행사 ‘누구나 즐기는 숲속 체험 ― 휴(休) 레스토랑’이 청각장애인 등 참가자들의 큰 호응 속에 성황리에 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 국립자연휴양림관리소 주관, 전북도 산림환경연구원 협조로 진행됐으며, 청각장애인 40여 명이 참여해 국산 임산물로 건강식과 음료를 만들고 오감을 활용한 숲 체험을 즐겼다.

행사장에는 수어통역사와 시각자료를 배치해 청각장애인을 위한 소통 환경을 갖췄으며, 참가자들은 ‘숲속 식탁’ 프로그램을 통해 자연 속에서 휴식과 소통의 시간을 나눴다.

송경호 산림환경연구원장은 “이번 행사는 포용적 산림복지의 시작점”이라며 “앞으로도 장애인 등 취약계층을 위한 산림문화행사를 확대해 누구나 숲의 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

전북도는 앞으로도 ‘사람 중심 산림정책’ 실현을 위해 다양한 맞춤형 산림복지 프로그램을 지속 확대해나갈 계획이다.

Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province announced that the forest cultural event 'Forest Experience for Everyone - Hyu (Rest) Restaurant' held at the Demisam Nature Recreation Forest in Jinan on the 20th ended successfully with a great response from participants, including the hearing-impaired.

The event, organized by the National Nature Recreation Forest Management Office and with the cooperation of the Jeonbuk Province Forest Environment Research Institute, saw the participation of around 40 hearing-impaired individuals. They enjoyed making healthy food and drinks with domestic forest products and experiencing the forest using all their senses.

The event venue was equipped with sign language interpreters and visual materials to create a communication-friendly environment for the hearing-impaired. Participants shared a time of relaxation and communication in nature through the 'Forest Dining Table' program.

Song Gyeong-ho, the director of the Forest Environment Research Institute, stated, "This event marks the starting point of inclusive forest welfare," and expressed, "We will continue to expand forest cultural events for people with disabilities and vulnerable groups so that everyone can benefit from the forest."

Jeonbuk Province plans to continuously expand various tailored forest welfare programs to realize a 'people-centered forest policy' in the future.
