국내 독립영화계의 대표 축제인 전북독립영화제가 올해로 25회를 맞아 출품작 공모에 나섰다.
전북독립영화제 사무국은 5일부터 7월 4일 오후 6시까지 제25회 영화제의 공식 경쟁 부문에 참여할 출품작을 접수한다고 밝혔다.

오는 10월 말 개최 예정인 이번 전북독립영화제는 매년 전국의 우수 독립영화를 소개하며, 관객과 창작자 간의 소통의 장을 만들어온 전통 깊은 영화제다.

공모 대상은 2024년 1월 이후 제작된 독립영화로, 장르와 러닝타임, 형식에 관계없이 전북독립영화제에 이전에 출품된 이력이 없는 작품이라면 출품할 수 있다. 경쟁 부문은 ▲국내경쟁과 ▲온고을경쟁 두 부문으로 나뉜다.

국내경쟁 부문은 전국을 대상으로 하며, 제작 지역의 제한 없이 독립 장·단편영화 모두 지원할 수 있다. 반면 온고을경쟁 부문은 ▲전북 지역을 배경 또는 소재로 50% 이상 활용했거나 ▲연출자가 전북에서 활동하는 영화인일 경우 출품 자격이 주어진다.

접수는 전북독립영화협회 홈페이지(www.jifa.or.kr)를 통해 진행되며, 마감일인 7월 4일 오후 6시까지 온라인 신청서와 심사용 스크리너를 제출해야 출품이 완료된다. 이후 예심을 통해 본선 경쟁작이 선정되며, 본 영화제 기간 동안 상영 및 시상이 이루어진다.

수상 부문은 ▲대상 ‘옹골진상’ ▲국내경쟁 우수상 ‘다부진상’ ▲온고을경쟁 우수상 ‘야무진상’ ▲배우상 ▲심사위원 특별언급상 등으로 구성되어 있다.

영화제 측은 “매년 국내 독립영화의 경향과 실험적 시선을 만날 수 있는 전북독립영화제는, 올해도 다양한 주제를 담아낸 개성 있는 작품들의 출품을 기대하고 있다”며 “신선한 시선과 뜨거운 진심이 담긴 독립영화들을 기다린다”고 전했다.

The Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival, the representative festival of the domestic independent film industry, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and has begun accepting submissions for entries. The Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival office announced that submissions for the official competition section of the 25th festival will be accepted from July 5th until 6 p.m. on July 4th.

Scheduled to be held at the end of October, this year's Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival is a deeply rooted traditional film festival that introduces excellent independent films from across the country each year, creating a space for communication between audiences and creators.

Entries must be independent films produced after January 2024, and regardless of genre, running time, or format, any work that has not been previously submitted to the Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival can be submitted. The competition section is divided into ▲domestic competition and ▲local competition.

The domestic competition section is open to films nationwide, supporting independent feature and short films without restrictions on the production region. On the other hand, the local competition section grants eligibility for submission if the film is set in or uses Jeonbuk as a location for over 50% of the film, or if the director is a filmmaker active in Jeonbuk.

Submissions are conducted through the Jeonbuk Independent Film Association website (www.jifa.or.kr), and to complete the submission, online application forms and screening copies for judging must be submitted by 6 p.m. on July 4th. Following the preliminary round, the final competition works will be selected, and screenings and awards will take place during the festival period.

The award categories include ▲Grand Prize 'Ongoljin Award' ▲Domestic Competition Excellence Award 'Dabujin Award' ▲Local Competition Excellence Award 'Yamujin Award' ▲Actor Award ▲Special Mention by the Jury, among others.

The festival organizers stated, "The Jeonbuk Independent Film Festival, where you can encounter the trends and experimental perspectives of domestic independent films every year, is looking forward to the submission of unique works with diverse themes this year," and added, "We are waiting for independent films filled with fresh perspectives and heartfelt sincerity."
