Journal of Insects as Food and Feed에 공동 제1저자로 게재하기도 했다.

Graduate student Gu Hyun-jun from the Department of Agricultural and Food Convergence at Jeonbuk University (supervised by Professor Yoon Jun-sun) recently won the Best Paper Presentation Award at the '2025 Spring Academic Conference on Aquatic Insects, Insects, and Bio-materials'.

Gu Hyun-jun, a master's student, presented a study proposing a technology that can rapidly diagnose Densovirus occurring in the industrial insect, the black soldier fly, on-site. His research was recognized for its outstanding achievements in the field of insect disease management.

Previously, Gu Hyun-jun, as a master's student, co-authored a paper analyzing the first discovery and spread of Densovirus in black soldier flies in Korea, which was published in the international academic journal Journal of Insects as Food and Feed as a joint first author. This paper is considered a top 5% prestigious journal and is gaining attention in the field.

Furthermore, this research led to the filing of four patents through collaboration with the Industry-Academia Cooperation Division at Jeonbuk University and the diagnostic technology specialized company, VirusTech Co., Ltd., with Gu Hyun-jun also registered as an inventor.

Gu Hyun-jun expressed his gratitude for the award, stating, "I will continue to raise awareness of the importance of disease management for the sustainability of the insect industry and carry on related research."
