전주시가 운영하는 전주책사랑포인트 ‘책쿵20’의 참여서점이 54곳으로 늘어났다. 전주시는 20일 전주시립도서관 꽃심에서 신규 참여서점 3곳(△일요일의 침대 △책방 흰바람벽 △프롬투)과 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

‘책쿵20’은 시민이 책을 구입할 때 정가의 20%를 할인받을 수 있도록 포인트를 제공하는 제도로, 독서문화 확산과 지역서점 활성화를 위한 전주형 도서구입비 지원사업이다.

전주시립도서관에서 책을 대출·반납하면 권당 50포인트가 적립되며, 도서 구매 시 사용할 수 있다. 현재까지 ‘책쿵20’ 가입자는 약 3만3,500명으로, 총 47만8,600여 권의 도서를 구매해 약 16억1,800만 원의 할인 혜택을 받은 것으로 집계됐다.

최현창 전주시 도서관본부장은 “‘책쿵20’은 시민에게 혜택을 주는 동시에 지역서점의 경영 안정에도 기여하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 건강한 독서 생태계 조성을 위해 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

'Bookkung20' is a program that provides points for citizens to receive a 20% discount on the purchase of books, aimed at promoting reading culture and revitalizing local bookstores through Jeonju's unique book purchase support program.

When borrowing or returning books at the Jeonju City Library, 50 points are accumulated per book, which can be used when purchasing books. So far, approximately 33,500 people have joined 'Bookkung20,' purchasing a total of around 478,600 books and receiving a discount benefit of approximately 1.618 billion won.

Choi Hyeon-chang, the head of the Jeonju City Library, stated, "‘Bookkung20’ not only benefits citizens but also contributes to the stable management of local bookstores," adding, "We will continue to expand it continuously to create a healthy reading ecosystem."
