남원시는 지난 19일부터 2박 3일간 자매도시인 충남 아산시의 초청으로 청소년 문화교류 행사를 진행했다고 21일 밝혔다.

이번 교류는 양 도시 청소년 간 우정을 쌓고 지역 문화와 역사를 이해하는 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련된 것으로, 남원시 청소년들은 ▲현충사 및 맹씨행단 견학 ▲도고 옹기 만들기 ▲아산 온천 힐링체험 ▲전통놀이 등 다양한 체험 프로그램에 참여했다.

남원시 관계자는 “청소년들이 서로의 문화를 이해하고 소통하는 뜻깊은 시간이 되었기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 교류를 통해 미래세대 간 우호 관계를 확대하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 오는 10월에는 아산시 청소년들이 남원을 방문할 예정으로, 남원시는 전통문화 체험과 지역 명소 탐방 등 다채로운 프로그램을 준비 중이다.

Namwon City announced on the 21st that they had conducted a youth cultural exchange event for 2 nights and 3 days starting from the 19th, upon the invitation of their sister city, Asan City in Chungnam Province.

This exchange was organized to foster friendship between the youth of the two cities and provide an opportunity to understand the local culture and history. The youth from Namwon City participated in various experiential programs such as visiting the memorial hall, making traditional pottery, experiencing the healing hot springs in Asan, and traditional games.

An official from Namwon City expressed hope that the time spent by the youth understanding and communicating each other's cultures would be meaningful and stated, "We will continue to expand friendly relations between future generations through ongoing exchanges."

Meanwhile, in October, youth from Asan City are scheduled to visit Namwon City, and Namwon City is preparing various programs including experiencing traditional culture and exploring local attractions.
