국립민속국악원(원장 김중현)은 오는 29일 오후 3시 국립민속국악원 예원당에서 연희부 정기공연 〈유랑의 꽃〉을 선보인다. 이번 공연은 우리 연희의 근간인 흥(興)과 신명(神明)을 전통의 결 위에 현대적 무대미학을 더해 새롭게 펼쳐내는 무대다.

〈유랑의 꽃〉은 호남여성농악의 예술적 완성도를 구현한 작품으로, 유순자 명인을 비롯한 호남여성농악보존회의 예술 정신을 잇고, 연희부 단원들의 기량을 더해 전통의 맥을 오늘의 무대 언어로 풀어냈다.

이번 무대는 입장굿을 시작으로 ▲첫째마당 ‘오채칠굿’ ▲둘째마당 ‘오방진굿’ ▲셋째마당 ‘두마치굿’ ▲넷째마당 ‘호허굿’까지 이어지며, 리듬의 빠르기·세기·밀도를 점층적으로 변화시켜 신명의 절정을 이끌어낸다. 그 속에서 단원들의 완벽한 호흡과 숙련된 기량이 빚어내는 ‘한국적 에너지의 미학’이 고스란히 드러난다.

공연의 제목이자 주제인 〈유랑의 꽃〉은 삶의 여정 속에서 피어나는 예술혼(藝術魂)을 상징한다. 예로부터 연희는 한곳에 머무르지 않고 마을과 세상을 유랑하며, 사람과 사람, 마을과 마을을 잇는 공동체 예술의 매개체로 존재해왔다. 이번 공연은 그러한 유랑의 정신을 현대 무대예술로 재구성해, ‘유랑’의 순환적 생명력과 그 속에서 피어나는 ‘꽃’의 아름다움을 예술적 언어로 풀어낸다.

국립민속국악원 관계자는 “〈유랑의 꽃〉은 한국 연희예술의 근간을 이루는 농악의 구조와 정신을 바탕으로, 사물놀이를 비롯한 타악 연희의 본질적 힘을 새롭게 조명하는 무대”라며, “연희부 단원들이 흘린 땀과 호흡, 그리고 그 속에서 피어난 예술적 신명이 관객에게 전통의 생명력과 공동체의 감동을 깊이 전해줄 것”이라고 밝혔다.

"Flowers of Wandering" is a piece that embodies the artistic completeness of Honam women's farming music, following the artistic spirit of the Honam Women's Farming Music Preservation Society, and enhancing the skills of the Yeonhui Division members to express the essence of tradition in today's stage language.

This stage performance starts with the entrance ritual, followed by the first part "Ochaechil Gut," the second part "Obangjin Gut," the third part "Dumachi Gut," and the fourth part "Hoho Gut," gradually changing the speed, century, and density of the rhythm to lead to the climax of the divine spirit. Within this, the perfect harmony and skilled abilities of the members create a full display of the "aesthetics of Korean energy."

The title and theme of the performance, "Flowers of Wandering," symbolize the artistic soul that blooms in the journey of life. Traditionally, Yeonhui has existed as a medium of community art that connects people, villages, and the world, wandering without staying in one place. This performance reinterprets the spirit of wandering in modern stage art, expressing the cyclical vitality of "wandering" and the beauty of the "flowers" that bloom within it through artistic language.

An official from the National Gugak Center stated, "Flowers of Wandering" is a stage that sheds new light on the essence of percussion Yeonhui, including object play, based on the structure and spirit of farming music that forms the foundation of Korean Yeonhui art," adding, "The sweat and breath of the Yeonhui Division members, and the artistic divine spirit that emerges from it, will deeply convey the vitality of tradition and the emotional impact of the community to the audience."
