최근 생성형 인공지능(AI) 확산으로 교육 현장의 윤리적 논란이 커지는 가운데 전북대학교가 「전북대학교 생성형 AI 교수‧학습 활용 가이드라인」을 전면 개정했다고 밝혔다.

전북대는 챗GPT 등 생성형 AI를 무조건 제한하기보다, 교수와 학생이 따라야 할 구체적인 행동 기준을 제시해 학습·연구에 도움이 되는 방향으로 활용하도록 유도하는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 교무처 주관으로 마련된 개정안은 생성형 AI 사용 시 준수해야 할 지침을 이해하기 쉽게 정리한 것이 특징이다.

가이드라인은 생성형 AI의 개념과 활용상 문제점, 6대 기본 활용 원칙, 교수자·학습자 수업 활용 지침 등으로 구성됐다. 특히 모든 교과목에서 생성형 AI 활용 수준을 ‘전면 금지–부분 허용–전면 허용’ 3단계로 구분해 강의계획서에 명시하도록 하고, 과제·시험에서 허용되는 활용 방식과 부정행위 사례를 사전에 안내하도록 한 점이 핵심이다.

전북대는 부정행위 예시와 윤리 위반 가능 사례를 함께 제시해 책임 있는 AI 사용을 강조하는 한편, 교수‧학습 과정에서 교육 효과를 높일 수 있는 활용 방향도 안내했다. 가이드라인 전문과 함께 교수자용·학습자용 카드뉴스를 제작해 대학 홈페이지와 학사정보시스템(LMS) 등에 게시했으며, 향후 지속 홍보를 통해 공정성과 윤리를 지키는 활용을 지원한다는 방침이다.

오상욱 교무처장은 “생성형 AI는 기준 없이 사용되면 부작용이 클 수 있다”며 “명확한 기준 아래 안전하고 책임 있게 활용하길 바란다”고 말했다.

Amid the growing ethical controversy in the education sector due to the recent proliferation of generative artificial intelligence (AI), Chonbuk University announced that it has completely revised its "Chonbuk University Generative AI Professor and Learning Utilization Guidelines."

Chonbuk University focused on providing specific behavioral standards that professors and students should follow to encourage the direction of utilizing generative AI in learning and research, rather than unconditionally restricting generative AI such as ChatGPT. The revised guidelines, organized by the Office of Academic Affairs, have simplified the guidelines that must be followed when using generative AI.

The guidelines consist of the concept and issues of utilizing generative AI, six basic principles of utilization, guidelines for professors and learners in class utilization, and more. In particular, it is essential that the level of generative AI utilization in all courses be divided into three stages: 'completely prohibited - partially allowed - fully allowed,' and be specified in the course syllabus. It also emphasizes informing in advance the permissible ways of utilization in assignments and exams, as well as cases of misconduct.

Chonbuk University not only emphasizes responsible AI use by providing examples of misconduct and potential ethical violations but also guides on how to enhance educational effectiveness in the teaching and learning process. Along with the full guidelines, they have created card news for professors and students and posted them on the university's website and Learning Management System (LMS). They plan to support the utilization that upholds fairness and ethics through continuous promotion in the future.

Oh Sang-wook, the head of the Office of Academic Affairs, stated, "Generative AI can have significant side effects if used without standards," and expressed his hope that it will be used safely and responsibly under clear guidelines.
