국립민속국악원(원장 김중현)은 겨울방학 기간 초등학생을 대상으로 한 청소년 국악강좌 <틴틴창극교실>을 운영한다.

<틴틴창극교실>은 어린이들이 판소리와 장단, 연기와 움직임을 익히며 창극의 구성 과정을 이해하고, 하나의 작품을 무대에서 발표하는 체험형 국악 교육 프로그램이다. 전통예술의 기본 요소를 실습 중심으로 구성해 어린이들이 창극의 표현 방식을 단계적으로 익힐 수 있도록 했다.

2026년 겨울방학 과정은 창극 ‘별주부전’을 주제로 진행된다. 수강생들은 대본 읽기와 배역 구성, 장면 연습을 거쳐 판소리와 장단, 무용과 연기를 단계적으로 익히며 창극 제작의 전 과정을 경험하게 된다. 특히 놀이 요소를 접목한 연기 수업을 통해 몸짓·말·소리·감정 표현 등 창극의 기본 요소를 자연스럽게 익히도록 구성했다.

교육은 1월 14일부터 30일까지 총 13일간, 오후 3시부터 6시까지 국립민속국악원 신관 무용연습실에서 진행된다. 프로그램의 마지막 날인 31일 오후 3시에는 예원당에서 수료발표회가 열리며, 수강생들은 그동안의 학습 결과를 무대에서 발표한다.

모집 대상은 초등학교 1학년부터 6학년(2025년 기준)이며, 모집 인원은 총 25명이다. 수강료는 5만 원으로, 접수는 2일 오전 10시부터 6일까지 국립민속국악원 누리집을 통해 선착순으로 진행된다. 기초생활수급자, 법정차상위계층, 장애·한부모·다자녀 가구 등은 관련 규정에 따라 교육비가 면제된다.

국립민속국악원 박계영 교육담당자는 “<틴틴창극교실>은 어린이들이 창작과 발표 과정을 직접 경험하는 국악 교육 프로그램”이라며 “겨울방학 동안 국악의 기초를 차분히 익힐 수 있는 시간이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

The National Gugak Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun) is operating a youth traditional music class called "Tintin Changgeuk Classroom" for elementary school students during the winter vacation period.

"Tintin Changgeuk Classroom" is an experiential traditional music education program where children learn pansori (traditional Korean narrative song) and rhythms, acting and movements, understand the composition process of changgeuk (Korean traditional opera), and present a piece on stage. It is designed with a practical focus on the basic elements of traditional arts so that children can gradually learn the expression methods of changgeuk.

The 2026 winter vacation program will be based on the changgeuk 'Byeoljubujeon'. Students will go through script reading, character allocation, scene practice, and gradually learn pansori, rhythms, dance, and acting, experiencing the entire process of changgeuk production. Especially through acting classes incorporating play elements, they will naturally learn the basic elements of changgeuk such as gestures, speech, sound, and emotional expression.

The education will take place from January 14th to the 30th, a total of 13 days, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the National Gugak Center's Shin Building Dance Practice Room. On the last day of the program, January 31st at 3 p.m., a graduation presentation will be held at the Yewon Hall, where students will present their learning outcomes on stage.

The target participants are elementary school students from 1st to 6th grade (based on 2025), with a total of 25 spots available. The tuition fee is 50,000 won, and registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis through the National Gugak Center's online portal from 10 a.m. on the 2nd to the 6th. Those eligible for basic living support, legal upper-tier households, and households with disabilities, single parents, or multiple children are exempt from education fees according to relevant regulations.

Park Gye-yeong, an education officer at the National Gugak Center, said, "Tintin Changgeuk Classroom is a traditional music education program where children directly experience the creation and presentation process," adding, "It will be a time during the winter vacation to calmly learn the basics of traditional Korean music."
