대한장애인체육회(회장 정진완)는 2일 오후 2시, 올림픽파크텔 올림피아홀에서 ‘2026 밀라노-코르티나담페초 동계패럴림픽 대한민국 선수단 결단식’을 개최했다.

결단식에는 정진완 대한장애인체육회장과 양오열 선수단장을 포함해 대한장애인체육회와 시도 체육회 임직원, 경기연맹 관계자 등 150여 명이 참석했다. 행사에서는 선수단의 훈련 과정을 담은 영상 상영, 선수단 소개, 개식사, 출정사, 단기 수여, 축하공연 등이 진행됐다. 특히 최휘영 장관은 선수들에게 격려의 메시지를 전하며 선수들의 무사 귀환을 기원했다.

‘2026 밀라노-코르티나담페초 동계패럴림픽’은 3월 6일부터 15일까지 이탈리아 일원에서 개최된다. 대한민국 선수단은 5개(알파인스키, 스노보드, 바이애슬론, 크로스컨트리, 휠체어컬링)종목에 걸쳐 50여 명(선수 약 16명, 임원 약 30명)이 참가한다.

문체부와 대한장애인체육회는 이번 대회를 대비해 고압산소 회복 기기, 근육 저주파 자극기, 압박용 냉각 치료기 등 첨단 과학 장비를 현장에 투입한다. 기술적 지원과 더불어 스포츠과학 연구사, 장비 매니저 등 전문 인력도 현지에 상주하며 선수들이 환경 변화에 신속히 적응할 수 있도록 도울 예정이다.

선수단의 안전과 건강 관리도 빈틈없이 준비했다. 코르티나와 프레다초 선수촌 안에서 의무실을 운영하고, 의료진이 24시간 응급 대응 체계를 유지한다. 동계 종목에서 빈번한 동상, 심혈관 질환 등에 대비한 의료 위기 대응 지침(매뉴얼)을 전 선수단에 배포하고, 도핑 및 등급 분류 분쟁 대응체계도 갖춘다.

이탈리아 현지에는 ‘케이-스포츠’와 문화를 알리는 홍보관이자, 장애인 국제체육 교류의 장으로서 한옥의 멋을 살린 ‘코리아하우스’를 운영한다. 특히 코리아하우스 내에서 급식지원센터를 운영해 당일 조리한 한식 도시락을 매일 선수촌과 경기장으로 배송하며, 된장국, 볶음김치, 깻잎 등으로 구성된 ‘한식 부식’도 별도로 제공한다.

The Korean Paralympic Committee (Chairman Jeong Jin-wan) held the '2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Paralympics Team Decision Ceremony for South Korea' at 2 p.m. on the 2nd at the Olympic Hall of the Olympic Parktel.

The ceremony was attended by about 150 people, including Jeong Jin-wan, the chairman of the Korean Paralympic Committee, and Yang O-yeol, the team leader, as well as staff from the Korean Paralympic Committee and provincial sports associations, and officials from sports federations. The event featured screening of videos showing the team's training process, team introductions, a banquet, departure speeches, short-term awards, congratulatory performances, and more. In particular, Minister Choi Hwi-young delivered a message of encouragement to the athletes, wishing them a safe return.

The '2026 Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Paralympics' will be held in Italy from March 6 to 15. The South Korean team will consist of about 50 members (approximately 16 athletes and 30 executives) participating in five disciplines: alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross-country skiing, and wheelchair curling.

For this event, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Paralympic Committee will deploy advanced scientific equipment such as hyperbaric oxygen recovery devices, muscle electrostimulation devices, and compression cooling therapy devices on-site. In addition to technical support, specialized personnel such as sports science researchers and equipment managers will be stationed on-site to help athletes adapt quickly to environmental changes.

Comprehensive measures have been taken for the safety and health management of the team. Medical facilities will operate in Cortina and Predazzo athlete villages, with medical staff maintaining a 24-hour emergency response system. Medical crisis response guidelines (manuals) for frequent injuries in winter sports, cardiovascular diseases, etc., will be distributed to the entire team, and a doping and classification dispute response system will also be in place.

In Italy, there is a promotional center that introduces 'K-Sports' and culture, serving as a venue for international exchange in disabled sports, and operates a 'Korea House' that preserves the beauty of traditional Korean architecture. In particular, within the Korea House, a catering support center will provide freshly cooked Korean meals daily to the athlete village and competition venues, offering a separate 'Korean meal package' consisting of soybean paste soup, stir-fried kimchi, sesame leaves, and more.
