한국장애인개발원 전북특별자치도장애아동·발달장애인지원센터(센터장 백재경, 이하 전북센터)와 전북대학교병원 행동발달증진센터(센터장 박태원)는 25일 ‘2026년 제2차 최중증 발달장애인 통합돌봄서비스 전북지역 종사자 역량강화교육’을 실시했다.

전북센터 교육실에서 열린 이번 교육은 전북지역 최중증 발달장애인 통합돌봄서비스 제공인력의 전문성을 높이고, 현장에서 발생하는 도전행동과 위기상황에 안전하게 대응하는 데 필요한 실무 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

교육에는 전북특별자치도 내 최중증 발달장애인 통합돌봄서비스 제공기관의 시설장, 사업관리자, 제공인력 등 30여 명이 참석했다.

교육은 ‘도전행동 시 안전한 중재방법 및 실습’을 주제로 이론과 실습을 병행해 진행됐다. 전북대학교병원 행동발달증진센터 이가은 팀장은 최중증 발달장애인의 도전행동에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 안전한 중재방법을 설명하고, 실제 대응 상황을 가정한 실습을 진행했다.

전북센터 백재경 센터장은 “최중증 발달장애인의 도전행동에 대응하기 위해서는 개인의 특성과 상황을 종합적으로 이해하는 것이 중요하다”며 “이번 교육이 종사자들이 현장에서 겪는 어려움을 공유하고, 도전행동과 위기상황에 안전하게 대응하는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 전북센터는 최중증 발달장애인 통합돌봄서비스 제공을 지원하기 위해 종사자 교육, 네트워크 활동 지원, 전문위원회 운영 등의 사업을 추진하고 있다. 앞으로도 현장 중심의 교육을 이어가며 최중증 발달장애인 통합돌봄서비스 제공인력의 전문성 향상과 서비스 품질 관리를 위한 지원을 지속할 계획이다.

The training held at the Jeonbuk Center's education room was designed to enhance the professionalism of practitioners providing integrated care services for severe developmental disabilities in the Jeonbuk region and strengthen the practical skills needed to safely respond to challenging behaviors and crisis situations that occur on-site.

The training was attended by around 30 individuals, including facility managers, business administrators, and service providers from institutions offering integrated care services for severe developmental disabilities in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province.

The training, themed 'Safe Intervention Methods and Practices for Challenging Behaviors,' combined theory and practice. Team leader Lee Ga-eun from the Behavioral Development Enhancement Center at Jeonbuk University Hospital explained safe intervention methods that can be utilized on-site based on an understanding of challenging behaviors in severe developmental disabilities and conducted practical exercises simulating real response situations.

Director Baek Jae-kyung of the Jeonbuk Center stated, "It is important to comprehensively understand the individual's characteristics and situation in order to address challenging behaviors in severe developmental disabilities," and expressed hope that "this training will help practitioners share the difficulties they face on-site and safely respond to challenging behaviors and crisis situations."

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Center is carrying out initiatives such as practitioner education, network activity support, and operating professional committees to support the provision of integrated care services for severe developmental disabilities. They plan to continue providing support for enhancing the professionalism of practitioners providing integrated care services for severe developmental disabilities and managing service quality through ongoing on-site-focused education in the future.
