전북특별자치도는 28일까지 군산 일원에서 도내 장애인직업재활시설장 31명을 대상으로 근로장애인의 인권보호와 시설의 대응 역량을 높이기 위한 ‘2026년 장애인직업재활시설장 워크숍’을 개최한다.

전북장애인직업재활시설협회가 주관하는 이번 워크숍은 장애인 인권침해를 예방하고 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 상황에 대한 대응체계를 강화하는 한편, 시설 간 정보교류와 협력을 활성화하기 위해 마련됐다.

첫날에는 장애인 학대 조사와 피해자 지원 등을 담당하는 전북장애인권익옹호기관과 업무협약을 체결했다. 양 기관은 장애인 학대 예방과 대응체계 구축을 위한 협력을 강화할 예정이다.

이어 전북장애인권익옹호기관이 실제 사례를 중심으로 장애인 학대 예방과 대응방안을 설명하고, 시설장들이 현장에서 인권침해 징후를 조기에 파악하고 적절히 대응할 수 있도록 실무 중심의 특강을 진행했다.

둘째 날에는 군산지역 장애인직업재활시설을 견학하고 시설 운영사례를 공유하는 등 직업재활시설 간 교류의 시간을 갖는다.

도는 이번 워크숍을 계기로 장애인직업재활시설의 인권보호 역량을 높이고, 근로장애인이 보다 안전한 환경에서 일할 수 있도록 예방 중심의 인권보호 체계를 강화해 나갈 계획이다.

임성익 전북자치도 장애인복지정책과장은 “장애인 인권보호는 현장에서의 세심한 관심과 예방이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “이번 워크숍이 시설장들의 인권 감수성과 대응 역량을 높이는 계기가 되길 바라며, 앞으로도 근로장애인이 안심하고 일할 수 있는 환경을 만드는 데 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is hosting a '2026 Disabled Vocational Rehabilitation Facility Workshop' in Gunsan to enhance the protection of the rights of disabled workers and the facility's response capacity for 31 disabled workers in the province until the 28th.

Organized by the Jeonbuk Disabled Vocational Rehabilitation Facility Association, this workshop aims to prevent violations of the rights of disabled individuals, strengthen response systems for potential on-site situations, and promote information exchange and cooperation among facilities.

On the first day, a business agreement was signed with the Jeonbuk Disability Rights Advocacy Agency responsible for investigating disability abuse and supporting victims. Both organizations plan to enhance cooperation to prevent disability abuse and establish response systems.

Subsequently, the Jeonbuk Disability Rights Advocacy Agency explained prevention and response measures for disability abuse based on actual cases and conducted practical workshops to help facility managers identify signs of rights violations early on and respond appropriately.

On the second day, there will be a tour of vocational rehabilitation facilities for disabled individuals in the Gunsan area and a time for sharing operational practices among facilities.

The province plans to use this workshop as an opportunity to enhance the capacity for protecting the rights of disabled workers in vocational rehabilitation facilities and strengthen a prevention-oriented human rights protection system to enable disabled workers to work in a safer environment.

Lim Sung-ik, head of the Jeonbuk Province Disability Welfare Policy Department, stated, "Protection of the rights of disabled individuals requires meticulous attention and prevention on-site above all." He added, "I hope this workshop will be a catalyst for increasing the sensitivity to rights and response capacity of facility managers, and we will continue to strive to create an environment where disabled workers can work safely."
