전주동물원이 새봄을 맞아 새로운 가족을 맞이했다. 주인공은 지난달 덕진체련공원에서 발견된 마블폭스로, 전주시 유기동물보호센터에서 인계받아 17일부터 일반에 공개됐다.

마블폭스는 국제적멸종위기종(CITES)이 아니므로 민간 입양이 가능하지만, 불법 번식 우려와 사육 난이도 등을 고려해 전주동물원에서 보호하기로 결정됐다. 동물원은 건강 검진과 환경 적응 과정을 거쳐 중형맹수사에서 보금자리를 마련했다.

전주시 공식 인스타그램에 공개된 마블폭스 영상은 24만 회 이상 조회되며 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 김종대 전주동물원장은 “새로운 가족을 환영하며 정성을 다해 보살피겠다”고 밝혔다.

The video of the marble fox, shared on Jeonju City's official Instagram account, has received over 240,000 views, attracting significant attention. Kim Jong-dae, the director of Jeonju Zoo, stated, "We will welcome the new family and take care of them with all our heart."
