오는 5월 전주에서 열리는 ‘제4회 전주국제그림책도서전’이 국내외 유명 그림책 작가들의 원화 전시와 다양한 프로그램으로 풍성하게 꾸며진다.

전주시는 이번 도서전의 원화 전시 작가로 백희나, 사라 룬드베리, 에바 린드스트룀, 키티 크라우더 등 한국과 스웨덴을 대표하는 그림책 작가 4인을 선정했다고 27일 밝혔다.

원화 전시는 5월 29일부터 6월 29일까지 팔복예술공장과 완산도서관에서 열리며, 백희나·사라 룬드베리 작가의 작품은 팔복예술공장 이팝나무홀, 에바 린드스트룀·키티 크라우더 작가의 작품은 완산도서관 전시실에서 선보인다.

백희나 작가는 ‘구름빵’으로 세계적 주목을 받았고, ‘알사탕’ 등 다수의 대표작이 있다. 사라 룬드베리는 올해 볼로냐 라가치상 수상작 ‘오로지 나만’의 작가로, 아우구스트상 등 다수의 문학상을 받았다. 에바 린드스트룀과 키티 크라우더 역시 세계적인 아동문학상을 수상한 그림책 작가들로, 이번 전시를 통해 국내에 소개된다.

시는 원화 전시 외에도 작가와 직접 만날 수 있는 콘퍼런스, 강연, 워크숍 등을 마련하며, 사라 룬드베리 작가는 이번 도서전을 통해 국내 독자들과 첫 만남을 가질 예정이다.

최현창 전주시 도서관본부장은 “그림책의 무한한 상상력과 감동을 전할 전시와 만남에 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 전했다.

The 4th Jeonju International Picture Book Fair, which will be held in Jeonju in May, will be enriched with original illustration exhibitions and various programs by famous picture book authors from both domestic and international backgrounds.

Jeonju City announced on the 27th that for this book fair, they have selected four representative picture book authors from Korea and Sweden, including Baek Hee-na, Sara Lundberg, Eva Lindström, and Kitty Crowder, for the original illustration exhibition.

The exhibition will take place from May 29 to June 29 at Palbok Art Factory and Wanju Library. The works of Baek Hee-na and Sara Lundberg will be displayed at Palbok Art Factory's Ipam Tree Hall, while the works of Eva Lindström and Kitty Crowder will be showcased at Wanju Library's exhibition room.

Baek Hee-na, known for "Cloud Bread," has gained worldwide attention, and has several representative works such as "Egg Candy." Sara Lundberg, the author of this year's Bologna Ragazzi Award-winning work "Only Me," has also received numerous literary awards including the August Prize. Eva Lindström and Kitty Crowder, who have also won international awards in children's literature, will be introduced to the domestic audience through this exhibition.

In addition to the illustration exhibition, the city has prepared conferences, lectures, workshops, and opportunities to meet the authors directly. Sara Lundberg is scheduled to have her first meeting with domestic readers at this book fair.

Choi Hyun-chang, the head of Jeonju City Library, expressed, "We hope for a lot of interest and participation in the exhibition and meetings that convey the infinite imagination and emotion of picture books."
