정읍시가 9년 연속 ‘기업하기 좋은 도시’로 선정된 데 이어, 지역 경제 활성화와 미래 성장 동력 확보를 위한 새로운 기업 지원책을 마련하고 본격 시행에 나섰다.

시는 기존 ‘1기업 1공무원 전담제’ 등 기업 친화 시책에 이어, 지역 건설업체 이용 시 투자 보조금 지원율을 기존 5%에서 6%로 상향 조정해 건설 경기 부양을 도모한다. 또한 타 지역 기업의 정읍 이전을 촉진하기 위해 4인 이상 가족이 이주할 경우 최대 2,000만 원의 정착금을 지원하는 제도도 도입했다.

바이오 산업 육성에도 속도를 낸다. 시는 바이오 기업의 10억 원 초과 투자 시 보조금 지원 비율을 6%로 상향해 레드·그린바이오 산업의 성장을 유도할 방침이다. 물류 산업에 대해서도 제조업 수준의 투자 보조금을 신설해 정읍의 지리적 이점을 살린 유치 전략을 추진한다.

이학수 시장은 “이번 지원책이 정읍 경제에 활력을 불어넣고, 지속가능한 산업 생태계 조성에 기여하길 기대한다”며 “기업하기 좋은 도시로서의 위상을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Following its selection as a 'City Good for Business' for the 9th consecutive year, Jeongeup City has prepared and begun implementing new business support policies to promote local economic revitalization and secure future growth momentum.

In addition to existing business-friendly policies such as the 'One Company, One Civil Servant Dedicated System,' the city is increasing the investment subsidy support rate for the use of local construction companies from 5% to 6% to stimulate the construction industry. Furthermore, a new system has been introduced to support a settlement fee of up to 20 million won for families of four or more who relocate to Jeongeup to promote the relocation of businesses from other areas.

The city is also accelerating the promotion of the bio-industry. It plans to increase the subsidy support rate to 6% for investments exceeding 1 billion won by bio-companies to induce the growth of the red and green bio-industries. A new investment subsidy at the manufacturing level is being established for the logistics industry to pursue a strategy of attracting businesses by leveraging Jeongeup's geographical advantages.

Mayor Lee Hak-soo expressed his expectations that "this support policy will inject vitality into the Jeongeup economy and contribute to the creation of a sustainable industrial ecosystem," stating, "We will further enhance our status as a city conducive to business operations."
