전북특별자치도 어르신들이 한자리에 모인 ‘2025 전북특별자치도 어르신 생활체육대회’가 16일 완주군 일원에서 성황리에 열렸다.

이번 대회는 전북특별자치도체육회(회장 정강선)와 완주군체육회(회장 이종준)가 공동 주최·주관했으며, 도내 14개 시·군에서 2,200여 명의 선수와 임원이 참가했다. 유희태 완주군수, 유의식 완주군의회 의장 등도 개회식에 참석해 참가자들을 격려했다.

대회는 완주문예회관에서의 개회식을 시작으로 게이트볼, 그라운드골프, 탁구, 테니스, 윷놀이 등 9개 종목 경기가 완주군 곳곳의 체육시설에서 진행됐다. 용진생활체육공원, 반다비체육관, 생강골공원 등 생활체육 인프라가 경기장으로 활용됐다.

유희태 군수는 “이번 대회가 어르신들의 건강과 화합에 기여하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 체육 인프라와 프로그램을 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

전북체육회 관계자는 “어르신들이 활기찬 여가생활을 이어갈 수 있도록 생애주기별 맞춤 체육활동을 확대하겠다”고 전했다.

Elderly people from Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province gathered together for the '2025 Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Elderly Sports Festival,' which was held successfully on the 16th in Wanju County.

The event was jointly organized and hosted by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Sports Council (Chairman Jung Kang-seon) and Wanju County Sports Council (Chairman Lee Jong-jun), with participation from 2,200 players and officials from 14 cities and counties in the province. Yu Hee-tae, the mayor of Wanju County, and Yoo Ui-sik, the chairman of the Wanju County Council, also attended the opening ceremony to cheer on the participants.

The competition started with the opening ceremony at the Wanju Cultural Center, followed by matches in nine sports including gateball, ground golf, table tennis, tennis, and yutnori at various sports facilities in Wanju County such as Yongjin Sports Park, Bandalbi Gymnasium, and Saenggangol Park.

Mayor Yu Hee-tae expressed his hope that "this event will contribute to the health and harmony of the elderly" and stated, "We will continue to expand various sports infrastructure and programs in the future."

An official from the Jeonbuk Sports Council stated, "We will expand tailored sports activities for each stage of life so that the elderly can continue to lead an active leisure life."
