제21대 대통령선거 사전투표 첫날인 5월 29일, 순창군이 45.51%의 투표율을 기록하며 전국 최고 투표율을 달성했다. 이는 전체 선거인수 24,184명 중 11,007명이 투표에 참여한 결과로, 전국 평균 투표율 19.58%를 크게 웃도는 수치다.

특히 오전 9시 기준 전북 최고인 10.43%를 기록한 데 이어, 오후 2시에는 32.42%까지 상승하는 등 높은 참여 열기를 이어갔다.

순창군은 공공기관 외벽, 도로변 현수막, 전광판, SNS, 전화 컬러링 서비스 등 다양한 매체를 활용한 투표 독려 활동을 전개했다. 특히 전화 컬러링 서비스는 큰 홍보 효과를 보이며 타 지자체의 관심을 끌었다.

최영일 순창군수는 장날과 행사장을 찾아 직접 ‘투표 참여’ 피켓을 들고 주민들에게 일정을 안내하며 적극적으로 참여를 독려했다.

최 군수는 “사전투표에 참여해 주신 군민들께 감사드리며, 본투표에도 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”고 전했다.

On the first day of early voting for the 21st presidential election on May 29th, Suncheon County achieved the highest voter turnout nationwide with 45.51%. This was the result of 11,007 out of a total of 24,184 eligible voters participating in the voting, significantly surpassing the national average voter turnout of 19.58%.

Particularly, Suncheon County started with a record of 10.43% by 9 a.m., the highest in Jeollabuk-do, and continued to rise to 32.42% by 2 p.m., showing a high level of participation.

Suncheon County conducted various voter encouragement activities using public institution walls, roadside banners, electronic billboards, social media, phone color ring services, etc. In particular, the phone color ring service showed significant promotional effects and attracted attention from other regions.

Mayor Choi Young-il of Suncheon County actively encouraged participation by personally visiting markets and event venues, holding a 'vote participation' picket, and guiding residents on the schedule.

Mayor Choi stated, "I express my gratitude to the residents who participated in early voting, and I ask for a lot of interest and participation in the main voting as well."
