순창군이 본격적인 영농철을 맞아 이달 말까지 ‘봄철 농촌일손돕기’를 집중 추진한다.

이번 일손돕기는 고령화와 인구 감소로 일손 부족이 심화된 농촌 현실을 반영해, 적기 영농과 농가 생계 안정 지원을 목적으로 마련됐다. 순창군 공무원들의 자발적 참여를 중심으로 민간단체, 군부대, 교육기관, 기업 등 다양한 단체가 협력에 나선다.

지원 대상은 매실, 복분자, 오디 등 수확기 작물을 우선으로 하며, 고추 지주목 설치, 과실 솎기, 비닐멀칭, 병해충 방제, 벼 이앙 등 다양한 작업도 병행할 예정이다. 행사성 활동을 지양하고 실질적 도움이 필요한 농가를 중심으로 지원이 집중된다.

현장에는 농업기술센터 전문가가 참여자 작업을 지도해 효율성과 안전을 높이며, 군은 ‘농촌일손돕기 지원창구’를 통해 수요 중심 인력 배치도 체계적으로 운영할 계획이다.

최영일 군수는 “공직자와 지역사회가 함께 농업의 어려움을 나누는 것이 진정한 상생”이라며 “앞으로도 농업이 존중받는 순창을 만들기 위해 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Suncheon County will actively promote "Spring Rural Assistance" until the end of this month to coincide with the start of the farming season.

This assistance program was established with the aim of supporting timely farming and ensuring the stability of farm households, reflecting the deepening shortage of labor in rural areas due to aging and population decline. Various organizations such as private groups, military units, educational institutions, and businesses are participating in cooperation, with the voluntary participation of Suncheon County officials at the core.

The support will primarily focus on harvesting crops such as Japanese apricots, medlars, and pears, and will also include various tasks such as installing pepper supports, fruit picking, mulching, pest control, and transplanting rice seedlings. The support will be concentrated on farms that require practical assistance rather than event-based activities.

Experts from the Agricultural Technology Center will guide participants in their work on-site to enhance efficiency and safety. The county plans to systematically manage the deployment of manpower based on demand through the "Rural Assistance Support Center."

Suncheon County Mayor Choi Young-il stated, "Sharing the difficulties of agriculture between public officials and the local community is true mutual prosperity," and expressed his commitment to making Suncheon a place where agriculture is respected in the future.
