전북과학문화거점센터 주관…장애인복지관 이용자 등 참여

국립군산대학교는 지난 5일 한국과학창의재단과 전북특별자치도의 지원을 받아 ‘지역과학문화 역량 강화사업(전북과학문화거점센터)’의 일환으로 ‘과학하기 좋은데이’ 프로그램을 성공적으로 운영했다.

이번 프로그램에는 김제장애인복지관 이용자 13명과 관계자 11명이 함께해 순창발효테마파크를 방문했다. 참가자들은 옹기종기과학관, 효모관, 팡이관을 탐방하며 발효과학의 원리와 미생물의 세계를 직접 체험했다. 또한 마카롱 만들기 쿠킹체험 등 다양한 활동을 통해 과학의 재미를 경험했다.

참여 인솔자는 “복지관 이용자들이 발효과학에 흥미를 느끼고 즐거워하는 모습이 인상적이었다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 새만금창의융합센터 유수창 센터장은 “일반인과 함께 과학문화 프로그램을 즐기며 유익한 시간이었다”고 전했다.

한편, 전북과학문화거점센터는 과학기술정보통신부, 한국과학창의재단, 과학기술진흥기금 및 복권기금의 지원을 받아 운영 중이며, 과학기술 발전과 저소득·소외계층 복지 증진에 기여하고 있다.

On the 5th, the National University of Gunsan, with support from the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology and Jeollabuk-do, successfully operated the "Science-Friendly Day" program as part of the "Enhancing Regional Science and Culture Capacity Project (Jeonbuk Science and Culture Hub Center)."

In this program, 13 users from the Gimje Disability Welfare Center and 11 officials visited the Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park. Participants explored the Onggi Jonggi Science Hall, Yeast Hall, and Fungi Hall, experiencing firsthand the principles of fermentation science and the world of microorganisms. They also experienced the fun of science through various activities such as making macarons.

The participating guides expressed their impressions, saying, "It was impressive to see the welfare center users interested and enjoying fermentation science." Yoo Su-chang, the director of the Saemangeum Creative Convergence Center, shared, "It was a beneficial time enjoying science and culture programs with the general public."

Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Science and Culture Hub Center is operated with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology, the Science and Technology Promotion Fund, and the Lottery Fund, contributing to the development of science and technology and the promotion of welfare for low-income and marginalized groups.
