무주군에서 지난 21일부터 22일까지 ‘2025 무주 반딧불배 전국 유소년 축구대회’와 ‘제12회 국무총리기 생활체육 전국 시·도대항 검도대회’가 성황리에 열렸다.

유소년 축구대회는 무주군체육회 주최, 한국축구클럽연맹 주관으로 등나무운동장, 무주중학교, 적상면체육공원 등지에서 열렸으며, 전국 48개 팀 820명의 선수와 대회 관계자 및 가족 등 약 1,800명이 참가했다.

같은 기간 무주국민체육센터에서는 대한검도회 주최, 전북검도회·무주군검도회 주관으로 제12회 국무총리기 검도대회가 열려 전국에서 모인 700여 명의 선수가 단체전과 개인전에 출전했다. 이 대회를 통해 무주를 찾은 방문객은 약 1,700명으로 집계됐다.

황인홍 무주군수는 “전국 단위 스포츠 대회가 지역 경제에 활력을 불어넣고 있다”며 “무주가 스포츠 중심 도시로 자리매김할 수 있도록 인프라를 지속적으로 확충하겠다”고 밝혔다.

무주군은 올해 유소년 축구와 검도대회를 포함해 총 30개의 스포츠 대회 및 전지훈련을 유치했으며, 연말까지 자전거, 족구, 탁구, 배드민턴 등 다양한 대회를 추가로 개최할 예정이다.

The '2025 Muju Firefly Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament' and the '12th Prime Minister's Life Sports National City and Provincial Judo Tournament' were successfully held in Muju County from the 21st to the 22nd.

The youth soccer tournament, organized by the Muju County Sports Council and hosted by the Korea Football Club Federation, took place at various locations including Deungnamu Sports Field, Muju Middle School, and Jeoksangmyeon Sports Park, with the participation of approximately 1,800 people including 820 players from 48 teams nationwide, tournament officials, and family members.

During the same period, the 12th Prime Minister's Judo Tournament, hosted by the Korea Judo Association and organized by the Jeonbuk Judo Association and Muju County Judo Association, was held at the Muju National Sports Center, attracting over 700 players from across the country to compete in team and individual matches. Approximately 1,700 visitors were recorded to have visited Muju for this event.

Muju County Mayor Hwang In-hong stated, "National sports events are revitalizing the local economy," and expressed, "We will continue to enhance the infrastructure to establish Muju as a sports-centric city."

This year, Muju County has attracted a total of 30 sports events and training camps, including the youth soccer and judo tournaments, and plans to host additional diverse events such as cycling, foot volleyball, table tennis, and badminton until the end of the year.
