(재)전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기)이 오는 8월 1일과 2일 김해문화관광재단의 음악극 ‘당신이 좋아’를 전주한벽문화관에서 선보인다.

이번 공연은 전주문화재단이 추진하는 전주브랜드공연 문화교류 사업의 일환으로, 지역 대표 공연들이 서로의 무대에서 공연을 펼치며 문화예술 교류를 활성화하는 프로그램이다.

지역 간 상생과 협력을 도모하고 시민들에게 다양한 문화예술 향유 기회를 제공하고자 기획됐다.

앞서 2024년 11월에는 김해문화의전당에서 전주브랜드공연(마당창극) ‘오만방자 전라감사 길들이기’가 성황리에 개최된 바 있어, 이번 전주는 그 교류의 연장선이다.

음악극‘당신이 좋아’는 극장 사장 ‘정우성’이 영화 ‘러브스토리’를 보며 첫사랑을 떠올리는 과정을 중심으로, 각기 다른 삶의 이야기를 지닌 다양한 인물 군상이 펼쳐지는 작품이다. 총 5명의 배우가 출연해 다양한 감정과 서사를 섬세하게 풀어내며 관객들에게 진한 여운을 전할 예정이다.

해당 작품은 2020년 초연 이후 (재)김해문화관광재단의 예술인 지원사업인 ‘불가사리’에 선정되어 지속적인 재공연과 꾸준한 수정·보완을 거치며 높은 완성도를 인정받았다.

특히 문화체육관광부와 예술경영지원센터가 지역에서 창작된 우수공연 작품을 서울 주요 공연장에서 선보이고 전국적으로 유통할 수 있도록 지원하는 ‘2024 리:바운드 축제 선정작품으로 김해 예술단체 최초로 청와대 가을 음악회 무대에 오르는 성과를 이루기도 했다.

‘당신이 좋아’는 남녀노소 모두 공감할 수 있는 주크박스 뮤지컬 형식으로 구성됐으며, 유쾌함과 아련함이 공존하는 서사가 특히 중장년층 관객들에게 특별한 감동을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

최락기 전주문화재단 대표이사는 “당신이 좋아는 따뜻한 이야기와 음악이 어우러진 작품으로, 관객과 진심으로 소통할 수 있는 무대가 될 것”이라며, “앞으로도 지속적인 문화교류를 통해 국내·외 예술단체들과 협력하며 문화도시 전주의 위상을 더욱 높여가겠다”고 전했다.

이번 공연은 전석 무료로 운영되며, 8세 이상 관람 가능하다.

The Jeonju Cultural Foundation (Representative Director Choi Rak-gi) will present the musical drama "You Like It" by the Gimhae Cultural Tourism Foundation at the Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center on August 1st and 2nd.

This performance is part of the Jeonju Brand Performance Cultural Exchange Project led by the Jeonju Cultural Foundation, where representative local performances unfold on each other's stages to promote cultural and artistic exchanges.

It was planned to promote mutual cooperation and collaboration between regions and provide citizens with various opportunities to enjoy cultural and artistic experiences.

Previously, in November 2024, the Jeonju Brand Performance (Madang Changgeuk) "Taming the Arrogant Jeolla Governor" was successfully held at the Gimhae Cultural Center, and this event in Jeonju is an extension of that cultural exchange.

The musical drama "You Like It" revolves around theater owner Jung Woo-sung recalling his first love while watching the movie "Love Story," unfolding the stories of various characters with different life experiences. With a total of 5 actors, the performance will delicately express various emotions and narratives, leaving a deep impression on the audience.

Since its premiere in 2020, this work has been selected for the "Starfish" artist support program by the Gimhae Cultural Tourism Foundation, undergoing continuous reperformances and steady improvements, receiving recognition for its high quality.

In particular, it was selected as a "2024 Re:Bound Festival" work supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Arts Management Support Center, aiming to showcase outstanding locally created performance works in major theaters in Seoul and distribute them nationwide. It also achieved the milestone of being the first Kimhae arts organization to perform at the Blue House Autumn Music Concert.

"You Like It" is structured in a jukebox musical format that can resonate with audiences of all ages, and the narrative that combines humor and nostalgia is expected to particularly touch middle-aged and older audiences.

Choi Rak-gi, the representative director of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation, stated, "You Like It is a work that combines warm stories and music, and it will be a stage where we can communicate sincerely with the audience," adding, "We will continue to enhance the status of Jeonju as a cultural city through ongoing cultural exchanges and collaborations with domestic and international arts organizations."

The performance is free for all seats and is suitable for audiences aged 8 and above.
