전주기전대학(총장 조희천) 운동재활과가 건강운동관리사 국가자격시험에서 지방 전문대학으로는 이례적으로 두 자릿수 합격자를 배출했다. 2021년부터 현재까지 총 12명이 합격했으며, 이 중 8명은 은퇴한 축구부 학생선수 출신이다.

이종민 운동재활과 교수는 “학생선수 출신들이 성실함과 목표 지향성을 바탕으로 짧은 기간 집중 훈련과 맞춤형 지도를 받아 좋은 결과를 냈다”고 밝혔다. 은퇴 후 합격한 김성민 학생은 “운동선수 시절의 끈기와 집중력이 합격에 큰 도움이 됐다”고 전했다.

건강운동관리사는 병원, 피트니스 센터, 재활기관 등에서 맞춤형 운동 처방과 지도를 담당하는 국가자격으로, 필기시험 합격률이 약 10%에 불과한 고난도 시험이다. 이번 성과는 전문대학과 운동선수 출신 모두의 자격증 취득 가능성을 넓힌 사례로 평가된다.

Jeonju Technical College (President Cho Hee-cheon) Department of Exercise Rehabilitation has produced a rare double-digit number of successful candidates in the national qualification exam for Health Exercise Managers among local colleges. From 2021 to the present, a total of 12 individuals have passed the exam, with 8 of them being former student athletes from the retired soccer team.

Professor Lee Jong-min of the Department of Exercise Rehabilitation stated, "Former student athletes achieved good results through short-term intensive training and tailored guidance based on their diligence and goal orientation." Kim Sung-min, who passed the exam after retirement, mentioned, "The perseverance and focus from my athletic career greatly helped me pass."

Health Exercise Manager is a national qualification responsible for tailored exercise prescription and guidance in hospitals, fitness centers, rehabilitation facilities, etc. The written exam pass rate is only about 10%, making it a difficult test. This achievement is evaluated as a case that broadens the possibility of both vocational college students and former athletes obtaining qualifications.
