전북도립미술관(관장 이애선)과 수원시립미술관(관장 남기민)이 오는 28일 전북도립미술관 서울분관에서 교류·협력 특별기획전 'B와 초콜릿의 게릴라 파티'를 연다.

전시 제목은 양 기관의 최근 기획전에서 차용했다. ‘B’는 전북도립미술관 '진격하는 B급들'에서, ‘초콜릿’은 수원시립미술관 '모두에게: 초콜릿, 레모네이드 그리고 파티'에서 가져왔다. 두 단어는 탈중심적 예술 실천과 대중적 즐거움의 은유를 담으며, ‘게릴라 파티’라는 개념과 함께 미술관을 열린 소통의 공간으로 확장하려는 의지를 드러낸다.

참여 작가는 서완호, 허태원, 성능경, 천근성, 에르빈 부름, 클레어 퐁텐 등 6팀으로, 회화·설치·퍼포먼스 등 작품 17여 점을 선보인다. 전시는 1층 ‘정당함에 대하여’와 2층 ‘참여와 해체’로 구성돼, 존재와 정당성, 제도와 유머, 예술과 일상의 경계를 탐구한다.

이번 전시는 전북도와 수원시가 맺은 ‘상생발전 협약’의 일환으로, 공립미술관 협업과 지역 간 문화 네트워크를 강화하는 첫걸음이 될 것으로 기대된다.

On the 28th, Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art (Director Lee Ae-sun) and Suwon City Museum of Art (Director Nam Gi-min) will open a special collaborative exhibition titled 'Guerilla Party of B and Chocolate' at the Seoul branch of Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art.

The exhibition title is borrowed from recent exhibitions at the two institutions. 'B' is from Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art's 'Advancing B-Grades,' and 'Chocolate' is from Suwon City Museum of Art's 'For Everyone: Chocolate, Lemonade, and Party.' These two words symbolize decentralized art practices and popular enjoyment, revealing an intention to expand the museum as a space for open communication along with the concept of a 'guerilla party.'

Participating artists include Seo Wan-ho, Heo Tae-won, Sung Neung-kyung, Chun Geun-sung, Erwin Brum, Claire Fontaine, among others, totaling 6 teams showcasing around 17 pieces of works including paintings, installations, and performances. The exhibition is divided into the 1st floor 'Regarding Justice' and the 2nd floor 'Participation and Disassembly,' exploring the boundaries between existence and justice, institution and humor, and art and everyday life.

This exhibition, part of the 'Mutual Growth Agreement' between Jeonbuk Province and Suwon City, is expected to be the first step in strengthening cooperation among public art museums and enhancing cultural networks between regions.
