-전주문화재단, 공동체 아트 전시 ‘나에 봄, 오늘이 젤 행복하다’ 개최

(재)전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기)은 흑석골 어르신들의 삶과 기억을 한지 예술로 풀어낸 전시 ‘나에 봄, 오늘이 젤 행복하다’를 오는 20일부터 전주천년한지관에서 개최한다.

전시의 무대가 되는 전주시 완산구 서학동 흑석골은 과거 ‘한지골’이라 불릴 만큼 전통 한지 산업이 활발했던 곳이다. 이번 전시는 이곳에 거주하는 어르신들이 직접 그림으로 기록한 인생 이야기를 통해, 지역의 기억과 공동체의 역사를 되새긴다.

작품은 원주민과 이주민 어르신이 함께 참여한 ‘할매랑 할배랑 옛날이야기’ 한지예술 프로젝트의 결과물로, ▲집과 가족 이야기 ▲그 시절 생계 ▲나의 봄 이야기 ▲흑석골의 자랑 ▲힘들었던 시절 ▲옛 흑석골 풍경 등 다양한 주제를 담고 있다. 전시 제목은 참여 어르신 안공희 님의 글에서 따온 것으로, 현재 느끼는 행복과 예술활동의 의미를 함축한다.

이번 프로젝트는 단순한 한지 체험을 넘어 지역 정체성을 담아낸 커뮤니티 아트로 주목받고 있다. 특히 지난 7월 서울 코엑스에서 열린 ‘서울일러스트레이션페어 V.19’에 참가해 큰 호응을 얻었으며, 어르신들의 작품을 엽서로 제작해 세대를 잇는 예술 활동의 가능성을 보여줬다. 전시는 커뮤니티 아트 그룹 ‘이랑고랑’과 협업으로 진행됐다.

최락기 대표이사는 “어르신들의 삶이 깃든 그림을 통해 세대와 지역을 잇는 울림이 전해지길 바란다”며 “이번 전시가 전주천년한지관을 거점으로 한 공동체 예술 활동으로 이어져, 흑석골의 중요한 문화 자산으로 남길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

전시는 9월 20일까지 매일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 열리며, 일요일과 월요일은 휴관한다. 관람 인증 SNS 이벤트도 함께 진행되며, 자세한 사항은 전주문화재단 한지문화팀(063-281-1630)으로 문의 가능하다.

- Jeonju Cultural Foundation to hold community art exhibition 'I'm Happiest Today, Spring for Me'

The Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) will hold an exhibition titled 'I'm Happiest Today, Spring for Me,' which expresses the lives and memories of the elderly in Heukseokgol through hanji art, at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Center from the 20th.

Heukseokgol in Seohak-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, where the exhibition takes place, was once a place where traditional hanji industry flourished to the extent of being called 'Hanji Gol.' This exhibition revisits the memories of the region and the history of the community through life stories recorded in paintings by the elderly residents living there.

The works are the result of the 'Grandma and Grandpa's Old Stories' hanji art project in which indigenous and immigrant elders participated, covering various themes such as ▲stories of home and family ▲livelihood in those days ▲my spring story ▲pride of Heukseokgol ▲difficult times ▲old Heukseokgol landscape. The exhibition title, derived from a writing by participating elder Ahn Gong-hee, encapsulates the current happiness and the meaning of artistic activities.

This project is gaining attention as a community art that embodies local identity beyond simple hanji experiences. Particularly, it received a great response when it participated in the 'Seoul Illustration Fair V.19' held at COEX in Seoul last July, showcasing the potential of art activities that bridge generations by producing postcards featuring the elders' works. The exhibition was carried out in collaboration with the community art group 'Irang Gorang.'

CEO Choi Rak-gi expressed his hope that "the resonance connecting generations and regions through the paintings imbued with the lives of the elderly" and stated, "I hope this exhibition will lead to community art activities centered around the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Center, leaving a significant cultural asset for Heukseokgol."

The exhibition will run daily from 9 am to 6 pm until September 20, and will be closed on Sundays and Mondays. An SNS certification event for viewing is also being held, and for more information, inquiries can be made to the Hanji Culture Team of the Jeonju Cultural Foundation at 063-281-1630.
