국립군산대학교(총장 직무대리 엄기욱)는 모듈형 컨버전스 학사학위과정(MCD) 운영 활성화를 위해 9월 2일과 5일 두 차례에 걸쳐 교직원 간담회를 개최했다.

이번 간담회에는 엄기욱 총장 직무대리를 비롯해 김효중 교육혁신처장, 정현준 모듈형교육과정혁신센터장 등 주요 보직자와 교직원 111명이 참석해 MCD 과정에 대한 높은 관심을 보였다.

간담회에서는 △MCD 과정의 개설·운영 방안 △교육과정 개발 공모 안내 △가이드라인(안) 의견 수렴 등이 논의됐다.

MCD는 2024학년도부터 도입된 새로운 학사제도로, 기존 전공 체계에서 벗어나 36~72학점 범위 내에서 산업계 수요에 맞춘 모듈형 교육과정을 구성할 수 있어 융합형 인재 양성에 초점을 두고 있다. 현재 29개 과정에 296명의 학생이 참여 중이다.

정현준 센터장은 “MCD는 학생이 주도적으로 학문을 설계하는 미래지향적 제도”라며 “구성원 의견을 반영해 모두가 함께 만드는 교육 모델로 발전시키겠다”고 밝혔다.

National Gunsan University (Acting President Eom Gi-wook) held two faculty meetings on September 2nd and 5th to activate the Modular Convergence Bachelor's Degree Program (MCD).

The meetings were attended by 111 faculty members, including Acting President Eom Gi-wook, Director Kim Hyo-joong of the Education Innovation Office, and Director Jung Hyeon-joon of the Modular Education Program Innovation Center, showing a high level of interest in the MCD program.

Discussions at the meetings included the establishment and operation of the MCD program, guidelines for educational development proposals, and gathering opinions on guidelines.

MCD is a new undergraduate system introduced starting from the 2024 academic year, allowing for the creation of modular education programs within the range of 36 to 72 credits, tailored to industry demand, moving away from the traditional major system and focusing on cultivating interdisciplinary talents. Currently, 296 students are participating in 29 programs.

Director Jung Hyeon-joon stated, "MCD is a future-oriented system where students design their studies autonomously," and expressed the intention to develop it into an educational model created together by reflecting the opinions of the members.
