오는 11월 3일부터 전주동물원 주차 요금이 15년 만에 1500원으로 인상된다. 단, 동물원 운영시간 외에는 무료로 개방한다.

동물원 주차장 요금 인상은 15년 만에 이뤄진 것으로, 시설 유지관리비 상승과 주차 환경 개선을 위한 불가피한 조치다.

현재 전주동물원 주차 요금은 승용차 기준으로 1회 1000원으로, 2009년 이후 동결돼 왔으며, 조정 이후에는 1500원으로 인상된다. 또, 25인승 이상 승합차의 경우 기존 2000원에서 3000원으로 변경될 예정이다.

시는 요금 인상분을 주차장 내 노후 포장 및 진입로 개선 등 쾌적한 주차 환경 조성을 위한 시설 개선에 재투자할 계획이다.

또한 시는 시민들의 부담을 줄이기 위해 동물원 운영시간(오전 9시~오후 6시) 외 시간에는 주차장을 무료 개방한다.

Starting from November 3rd, the parking fee at Jeonju Zoo will be increased to 1500 won for the first time in 15 years. However, the parking lot will be open for free outside of the zoo's operating hours.

The increase in parking fees at the zoo is the first in 15 years and is considered an unavoidable measure due to the rise in facility maintenance costs and the need for parking environment improvements.

Currently, the parking fee at Jeonju Zoo is 1000 won per car, based on a single entry for a passenger car, which has been frozen since 2009. After the adjustment, it will be increased to 1500 won. Additionally, for vehicles with 25 or more seats, the fee will be increased from the current 2000 won to 3000 won.

The city plans to reinvest the increased fees into facility improvements such as renovating the aging pavement and entrance roads within the parking lot to create a pleasant parking environment.

Furthermore, to alleviate the burden on citizens, the city will open the parking lot for free outside of the zoo's operating hours (from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
