전북현대의 레전드 최철순과 함께 그의 번호도 전설로 남는다.

전북현대는 30일 ‘하나은행 K리그1 2025’ 최종전 종료 후 치러진 최철순 선수의 은퇴식에서 그의 등번호 No.25의 영구결번을 팬들 앞에서 선포했다.

전북현대는 20년간 활약한 최철순 선수의 노력과 헌신을 인정하고 그의 발자취를 영원히 기억하기 위해 영구결번을 결정했다고 전했다.

또한 최철순의 번호가 전주성(전주월드컵경기장)에서 기억될 수 있도록 숫자 ‘25’를 담은 조형물을 동측 관중석 최상단 영구결번 존(Zone)에 헌액했다.

2006년 전북현대에 프로 입단 후 2010년까지 ‘2’번을 달고 뛰었던 최철순은 그 이듬해부터 2025년까지 자신의 상징이 된 ‘25’번을 등번호로 선택했다.

이번 영구결번은 전북현대에서 세 번째로 최초 영구결번은 서포터즈 MGB(Mad Green Boys)를 상징하는 No.12이며 두 번째는 2020년 은퇴한 이동국의 No.20 이다.

Jeonbuk Hyundai stated that they decided to retire the No.25 jersey permanently to acknowledge Choi Cheol-soon's efforts and dedication during his 20-year career and to forever remember his footsteps.

In addition, a sculpture containing the number '25' was dedicated to the eastern top permanent retirement zone in the stands at Jeonju World Cup Stadium to ensure that Choi Cheol-soon's number will be remembered there.

Choi Cheol-soon, who debuted with Jeonbuk Hyundai in 2006 and wore the number '2' until 2010, chose the number '25' as his jersey number from the following year until 2025, symbolizing himself.

This permanent retirement is the third in Jeonbuk Hyundai's history, with the first being the No.12 jersey representing the supporters group MGB (Mad Green Boys) and the second being the No.20 jersey of Lee Dong-guk, who retired in 2020.
