K리그1 우승팀 전북현대가 코리아컵까지 우승을 노리며 ‘더블’에 도전한다.

전북현대는 6일 오후 1시 30분 ‘2025 하나은행 코리아컵’ 결승전을 서울월드컵경기장에서 광주FC와 치른다.

코리아컵은 대한축구협회에서 주관하는 대회로 프로와 아마추어를 통틀어 모든 팀이 참가해 대한민국 최고의 축구팀을 가리는 대회로 올해 30번째를 맞았다.

지난해부터 결승전은 중립 지역인 서울월드컵경기장에서 단판 승부로 개최됐다.

2025시즌 K리그1을 제패한 전북현대는 이번 코리아컵까지 우승을 거머쥐고 2020년에 이어 두 번째 ‘더블 우승’을 노린다.

전북현대가 이번 코리아컵 우승 트로피를 들어 올리면 이 대회 최다 우승 횟수인 6회를 달성하며 포항 스틸러스와 함께 최다 우승 공동 1위가 된다.

전북현대는 지난 2000년 팀 최초 코리아컵(당시 FA컵) 우승을 시작으로 2003년, 2005년, 2020년, 2022년 등 5회 우승한 바 있다.

전북현대는 5년 만에 다시 찾아온 ‘더블 우승’의 기회를 광주FC에 내주지 않겠다는 각오다.

‘더블 우승’에 대한 염원은 선수단뿐만 아니라 팬들도 간절하다.

전북현대 팬들은 티켓 예매 오픈 첫날부터 많은 관심을 보이며 4일 오전 기준 전북현대 팬 존에만 1만 3천여 석을 예매하며 K리그1 챔피언팀다운 팬덤을 선보였다.

전북현대 팬 존을 제외한 서측 전체 예매가 8천여 석임을 고려하면 최소 1만 7천여 명의 전북현대 팬들이 서울월드컵경기장에 집결할 것으로 예상된다.

K리그1 우승을 이끈 주장 박진섭은 “추운 날씨 속에 서울까지 발걸음하는 2만 명에 가까운 우리 팬들 앞에서 트로피를 반드시 들어 올릴 것”이라며 “날씨는 춥지만 매우 뜨거운 한 판이 될 경기인 만큼 선수들과 다 함께 ‘더블 우승’을 위해 모든 것을 바치겠다”며 말했다.

한편, 이날 경기에 김영빈 선수와 거스 포옛 감독은 경고 누적과 퇴장으로 인해 출전하지 못한다.

If Jeonbuk Hyundai lifts the Korea Cup trophy this time, they will achieve a record 6 titles, tying with Pohang Steelers as the joint-most successful teams in the competition.

Jeonbuk Hyundai, starting with their first Korea Cup (then FA Cup) victory in 2000, has won the tournament five times in 2003, 2005, 2020, and 2022.

Jeonbuk Hyundai is determined not to miss the opportunity for a 'double victory' that has returned after five years against Gwangju FC.

The desire for a 'double victory' is not only among the players but also fervently shared by the fans.

Jeonbuk Hyundai fans have shown great interest from the first day of ticket sales, with over 13,000 tickets reserved for Jeonbuk Hyundai fans alone as of the morning of the 4th, showcasing a fan base befitting a K League 1 champion team.

Considering that the total western side ticket sales, excluding the Jeonbuk Hyundai fan zone, are around 8,000 seats, it is expected that at least 17,000 Jeonbuk Hyundai fans will gather at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Captain Park Jin-seop, who led the K League 1 victory, stated, "In front of nearly 20,000 of our fans who have made the journey to Seoul in the cold weather, we will definitely lift the trophy," adding, "Despite the cold weather, as it will be a very heated match, we will dedicate everything towards the 'double victory' together with the players."

Meanwhile, players Kim Young-bin and coach Geus Voorhees will not be able to participate in the match due to accumulated warnings and suspensions.
