전주시가 아이 낳고 키우기 좋은 도시 조성을 위해 내년도 보육사업을 확대한다.

전주시는 24일 내년도 보육 관련 예산을 올해보다 76억 원 늘어난 1,986억 원으로 편성해 어린이집 지원 등 각종 보육사업을 확대 추진할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 내년 보육예산은 학부모의 양육 부담을 줄이는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

시에 따르면 내년부터 △1세 필요경비 지원 △2세 필요경비 지원 △외국인자녀 보육료 지원이 신규로 추진돼 부모가 부담하던 비용이 줄어들 전망이다. 이 가운데 필요경비 지원은 보육료에 포함되지 않는 입학준비금, 특성화비, 행사비 등 실비 성격의 비용을 지원하는 사업으로, 기존 3~5세 대상 지원도 정부의 무상보육 계획에 따라 2027년까지 단계적으로 확대된다.

특히 전주시는 양육비 부담 완화를 위해 1세 영아 필요경비를 자체 사업으로 편성해 1인당 월 3만 원을 지원하기로 했다.

이와 함께 정부 차원의 지원 확대도 병행된다. 2026년 영유아보육료 3% 인상, 기관보육료 5% 인상, 보육교사 근무환경개선비 단가 2만 원 인상, 아침 돌봄 교사 수당 신설 등이 추진돼 보육환경 전반이 개선될 것으로 시는 내다봤다.

전주시 관계자는 “출산율 하락과 아동 감소로 어려움을 겪는 보육 현장을 돕고 아동 복지 증진과 보육환경 개선을 추진하겠다”며 “아이와 부모, 보육교직원 모두가 만족하는 보육환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

This program, which supports actual expenses, will gradually expand until 2027 in line with the government's free childcare plan for 3 to 5-year-olds.

In particular, Jeonju City has decided to allocate funds for the necessary expenses of 1-year-old infants as an independent program to provide 30,000 won per person per month to alleviate the financial burden of childcare expenses.

In addition, there will be simultaneous expansion of government support. By 2026, there will be a 3% increase in childcare fees for infants, a 5% increase in institutional childcare fees, a 20,000 won increase in the unit price for improving the working environment of childcare teachers, and the establishment of an additional allowance for morning care teachers. The city expects that the overall childcare environment will be improved through these measures.

An official from Jeonju City stated, "We will support the childcare field facing difficulties due to declining birth rates and decreasing numbers of children, and promote child welfare enhancement and improvement of the childcare environment," adding, "We will strive to create a childcare environment that satisfies children, parents, and childcare workers."
