군산시는 민원 현장의 긴급 상황에 대비하고 청사 내 질서 유지와 안전 확보를 위해 시 소속 청원경찰을 대상으로 현장 대응 역량 강화 교육을 실시했다고 24일 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 청원경찰 56명을 대상으로 실제 민원 현장에서 발생할 수 있는 돌발 상황에 신속하고 안전하게 대응할 수 있도록 실습 중심으로 진행됐다. 교육 내용은 위급 상황 단계별 대응을 위한 체포술, 가스 분사기 사용 요령, 정당한 공권력 범위 내 삼단봉 사용 요령 등 현장 적용에 초점을 맞췄다.

강의는 익산경찰서 경비교통과 소속이자 무도 사범인 최덕성 경감이 맡아, 현장 경험을 바탕으로 대응 요령을 전달했다.

군산시 관계자는 “민원 현장 위험 상황에 대비하려면 현장 대응 역량이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “청원경찰 대상 교육과 훈련을 지속 추진해 안전한 청사 환경과 시민 신뢰 확보에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

Gunsan City announced on the 24th that it conducted training to enhance on-site response capabilities for urgent situations at complaint sites and to maintain order and ensure safety within the city hall by targeting the city-affiliated petition police.

This training, targeting 56 petition police officers, focused on practicing swift and safe responses to sudden situations that may occur at actual complaint sites. The training content emphasized on-site application, such as arrest techniques for responding to emergency situations, instructions for using gas dispersers, and guidelines for using batons within the legitimate scope of public authority.

The lectures were delivered by Chief Superintendent Choi Deok-sung, who is affiliated with the Security and Traffic Division of Iksan Police Station and is also a martial arts instructor, based on his field experience.

An official from Gunsan City stated, "To prepare for dangerous situations at complaint sites, on-site response capabilities are crucial above all." They added, "We will continue to promote education and training for petition police officers to ensure a safe city hall environment and gain the trust of the citizens."
