지난 6월 개원한 무주군립요양병원이 2026년 새해부터 이용자 중심의 공공의료 서비스를 강화한다.

무주군립요양병원은 1월 1일부터 환자 간병비 감액 제도를 시행한다고 밝혔다. 이에 따라 무주군민은 **1인 1일 간병비 1만8천원의 50%**를 감액받아, 장기 입원 환자 가족의 부담이 줄어들 것으로 기대된다.

병원은 또한 의료취약지인 무주군의 의료 접근성 개선을 위해 소아청소년과를 신설·운영하고, 전문의를 확보해 진료 범위를 확대할 계획이다.

이와 함께 공립요양병원 공공사업의 일환으로 치매 환자 지원 프로그램도 추진한다. 퇴원 치매 환자의 일상 복귀 지원, 입원 환자 대상 비약물 치료 프로그램, 치매 환자 가족 지원 등이 포함된다.

권도훈 원장은 “무주군과 협력해 의료 격차를 해소하고 군민이 체감할 수 있는 공공의료 서비스를 제공하겠다”며 “치매·만성·노인성 질환 장기 치료와 의료·간호·요양 통합 진료를 지속하겠다”고 말했다.

무주군립요양병원은 지하 1층~지상 3층, 125병상(인공신장실 12병상) 규모로 신경외과·가정의학과·한의과 3개 진료과를 운영 중이다. 개원 이후 누적 환자 수는 입원·외래를 합쳐 1,400여 명이다.

한편 병원은 지난 7월 농협 하나로마트와 협약을 맺고 식재료를 구매하는 등 지역농산물 소비 확대와 지역경제 활성화에도 나서고 있다.

Accordingly, Mujoo residents are expected to receive a 50% reduction in the **daily caregiving cost of 18,000 won per person**, which will alleviate the burden on families of long-term hospitalized patients.

The hospital also plans to establish and operate a pediatric and adolescent department and expand the scope of treatment by securing specialists to improve medical accessibility in Mujoo, a medically underserved area.

As part of the public nursing hospital's public project, a dementia patient support program is also being promoted. This program includes support for the daily return of discharged dementia patients, non-pharmacological treatment programs for inpatients, and support for families of dementia patients.

Director Kwon Do-hoon stated, "We will work with Mujoo to alleviate medical disparities and provide public healthcare services that residents can feel," adding, "We will continue long-term treatment for dementia, chronic, and geriatric diseases, as well as integrated medical, nursing, and caregiving services."

The Mujoo municipal nursing hospital operates three departments – Neurosurgery, Family Medicine, and Oriental Medicine – spanning from the basement to the third floor, with a capacity of 125 beds (including 12 beds for artificial kidney treatment). Since its opening, the cumulative number of patients, including inpatients and outpatients, has reached over 1,400 individuals.

Furthermore, the hospital has taken steps to expand the consumption of local agricultural products and revitalize the local economy by signing an agreement with Nonghyup Hanaro Mart in July to purchase ingredients.
