원광대학교(총장 박성태) 도덕교육원과 계명대학교(총장 신일희) 계명인성교육원이 양교 재학생을 대상으로 ‘제8회 공동인성교육’ 프로그램을 진행했다.

이번 교육은 지난 23~24일 1박 2일 일정으로 계명대 성서캠퍼스와 명교생활관에서 열렸으며, 교류·협력을 중심으로 두 대학의 인성교육 프로그램을 접목한 과정으로 구성됐다.

양 기관은 인성교육 업무협약 이후 2017년부터 학생과 교수·직원 등이 참여하는 공동인성교육을 정례 운영해오고 있다. 교육은 원광대 ‘덕성훈련’과 계명대 ‘글로벌시티즌’ 프로그램을 토대로 협동·배려·공감 등 공동체 핵심 가치를 기르는 실천형 인성교육으로 진행됐다.

참가 학생들은 타 대학 학생들과의 교류를 통해 대학 문화를 이해·존중하고, 공감과 협력을 바탕으로 문제를 해결하는 과정에서 배려의 중요성을 체감했다고 전했다.

한편 원광대 도덕교육원은 덕성훈련을 비롯해 도의실천인증제, 사회공헌실천인증제 등 다양한 인성교육 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

Wonkwang University (President Park Sung-tae) Ethics Education Institute and Keimyung University (President Shin Il-hee) Keimyung Character Education Institute conducted the 8th joint character education program for students from both universities.

The education program took place on the 23rd and 24th of last month, with a one-night, two-day schedule held at Keimyung University's Seongseo Campus and Myeonggyo Dormitory. The program was designed by integrating the character education programs of the two universities, focusing on interaction and collaboration.

Since signing a character education cooperation agreement, the two institutions have been regularly conducting joint character education programs involving students, professors, and staff since 2017. The education program was based on Wonkwang University's 'Virtue Training' and Keimyung University's 'Global Citizen' program, aiming to cultivate core values of community such as cooperation, consideration, and empathy through practical character education.

Participants reported that through interactions with students from other universities, they gained an understanding and respect for university culture, and realized the importance of consideration while solving problems based on empathy and collaboration.

Meanwhile, Wonkwang University's Ethics Education Institute operates various character education programs including Virtue Training, Ethics Practice Certification System, and Social Contribution Practice Certification System.
