2025년도 제7회 백인청춘예술대상 수상자로 서승아(부토 무용가·안무가), 국은예(전통음악·해금) 씨가 선정됐다.

아울러 공로상은 제1회부터 제7회까지 백인청춘예술대상 시상식 사회를 맡아온 대중음악 예술가 이백희 씨에게 돌아갔다.

‘백인청춘예술대상’은 전라북도에서 활동하고 있는 청년예술가 100명이 상금을 모아, 지역 청년 예술인에게 귀감이 되는 활동을 펼친 중견 예술인에게 존경과 감사의 마음을 담아 수여되는 상이다. 2019년부터 매년 진행된 백인청춘예술대상은 올해로 7회째를 맞이했다.

제7회 백인청춘예술대상 시상식은 26일 오후 6시 문화공간 기린토월에서 진행됐으며, 청년 예술인과 문화예술 관련 활동가들이 참석해 수상자들을 진심으로 축하했다. 시상식 이후에는 네트워킹 자리를 통해 지역 예술의 현재와 앞으로의 방향에 대한 고민을 함께 나누는 시간이 이어졌다.

부토 무용가이자 안무가인 서승아는 신체와 감각, 존재에 대한 질문을 바탕으로 한 창작 작업을 지속해 오며, 무용의 경계를 확장하는 실험적인 활동을 이어오고 있다. 특히 지역을 기반으로 한 꾸준한 창작과 교육, 협업을 통해 후배 예술가들에게 깊은 영감을 주는 활동을 펼쳐왔다.

전통음악 해금 연주자인 국은예는 전통음악의 뿌리를 바탕으로 동시대적 해석과 창작을 시도하며, 공연과 교육, 협업 프로젝트를 통해 전통음악의 현재성을 고민해 온 예술가다. 국은예는 지역 안팎에서 전통음악의 확장 가능성을 꾸준히 실천해 온 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

공로상을 수상한 이백희는 대중음악 예술가로 활동하는 한편, 지난 7년간 백인청춘예술대상 시상식 사회를 맡아 행사의 취지와 의미를 청중에게 전달해 왔다. 매회 안정적인 진행과 따뜻한 언어로 청년과 중견 예술인을 잇는 역할을 해온 공로가 이번 수상으로 이어졌다.

서승아 씨는 “예술은 빠르게 피는 꽃이 아니라, 긴 시간을 견뎌 자라는 뿌리라며, 지역에서 활동하는 예술인 모두가 누군가의 삶을 비추는 큰 등불이 될 것이다.”고 소감을 전했다.

국은예 씨는 “전통이라는 이름 아래 머무르지 않고, 지금의 시간 속에서 음악을 고민해 온 과정을 따뜻하게 봐주신 것 같아 감사하다.”고 말했다.

공로상을 받은 이백희 씨는 “7년 동안 이 자리를 함께하며 많은 예술가들의 시간을 가까이에서 지켜볼 수 있어 영광이었다. 앞으로도 예술가들과 관객을 잇는 자리에서 꾸준히 함께하고 싶다”고 전했다.

In addition, the Achievement Award was given to Lee Baek-hee, a popular music artist who has been in charge of the Baekin Youth Art Awards ceremony from the 1st to the 7th editions.

The "Baekin Youth Art Awards" is an award given to mid-career artists who have inspired young local artists through their activities, funded by 100 young artists in Jeollabuk-do. The award, which expresses respect and gratitude to mid-career artists, has been held annually since 2019 and celebrated its 7th edition this year.

The 7th Baekin Youth Art Awards ceremony took place at 6 p.m. on the 26th at the cultural space Girin Towol, where young artists and cultural activists gathered to sincerely congratulate the winners. Following the ceremony, there was a networking session where participants discussed the current state and future direction of local arts.

Seo Seung-a, a Butoh dancer and choreographer, has been engaging in experimental activities that expand the boundaries of dance based on questions about the body, senses, and existence. She has been actively involved in consistent creative work, education, and collaborations based on the local scene, inspiring younger artists.

Gukeun-ye, a haegeum player of traditional music, has been exploring contemporary interpretations and creations based on the roots of traditional music. Through performances, education, and collaborative projects, she has been contemplating the relevance of traditional music. Gukeun-ye received high praise for her continuous efforts in expanding the possibilities of traditional music in the local context.

Lee Baek-hee, the recipient of the Achievement Award, is a popular music artist who has been actively involved in the music scene. Over the past 7 years, he has been responsible for the Baekin Youth Art Awards ceremony, effectively conveying the purpose and significance of the event to the audience. His consistent role in connecting young and mid-career artists with stable event management and warm communication led to his recognition with this award.

Seo Seung-a expressed her thoughts, saying, "Art is not a flower that blooms quickly but rather roots that endure and grow over time. Every artist active in the local scene will become a guiding light illuminating someone's life."

Gukeun-ye mentioned, "I am grateful for the warm reception of the process of contemplating music within the current time frame, rather than lingering under the name of tradition."

Lee Baek-hee, the recipient of the Achievement Award, stated, "It was an honor to be able to closely observe the time of many artists over the past 7 years in this position. I hope to continue to be together with artists and audiences in connecting roles in the future."
