군산학생교육문화관(관장 홍공숙)이 디지털 시대에 맞춰 전자잡지 서비스를 도입, 온라인 정기간행물 제공을 본격화한다고 21일 밝혔다.

이번에 도입된 전자잡지 서비스는 시사, 경제, 문화, 교육 등 다양한 분야의 국내외 잡지를 PC, 스마트폰, 태블릿 등에서 언제 어디서나 열람할 수 있는 디지털 콘텐츠 플랫폼 기반이다. 군산학생교육문화관 회원이라면 누구나 이용 가능하며, 누리집 접속은 물론 도서관 현장에서도 자유롭게 이용할 수 있다.

도서관 측은 이번 도입이 종이 잡지 중심의 기존 열람 방식에서 벗어나, 디지털 환경에 익숙한 학생·학부모·지역 주민의 이용 패턴을 반영한 변화라고 설명했다. 특히 실시간 업데이트되는 콘텐츠는 최신 정보 접근성과 자기주도 학습, 평생학습 기반 강화에도 긍정적 영향을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

문화관은 전자잡지 서비스와 영상 콘텐츠 이용 활성화를 위해 도서관 주간, 독서의 달 등 주요 행사와 연계한 다양한 프로그램도 운영할 계획이다.

홍공숙 관장은 “전자잡지 서비스는 단순한 매체 변화가 아니라, 교육과 독서 문화가 시대 변화에 능동적으로 대응하는 전환점”이라며 “온·오프라인을 아우르는 미래형 교육문화 공간으로 거듭나겠다”고 밝혔다.

Gunsan Student Education and Culture Center (Director Hong Gong-suk) announced on the 21st that it will introduce an electronic magazine service in line with the digital age and actively provide online periodicals.

The newly introduced electronic magazine service is a digital content platform that allows members of the Gunsan Student Education and Culture Center to access a variety of domestic and international magazines in areas such as current affairs, economy, culture, and education on PCs, smartphones, tablets, etc., anytime and anywhere. Any member of the center can use this service, and they can freely access it not only through the center's website but also at the library.

The library explained that this introduction is a departure from the traditional reading method centered around paper magazines, reflecting the usage patterns of students, parents, and local residents who are familiar with the digital environment. It is expected that the real-time updated content will have a positive impact on enhancing access to the latest information, self-directed learning, and lifelong learning.

To promote the use of electronic magazine services and video content, the center plans to operate various programs linked to major events such as library weeks and reading months.

Director Hong Gong-suk stated, "The electronic magazine service is not just a simple media change but a turning point where education and reading culture actively respond to the changes of the times," and expressed that it will evolve into a future-oriented education and cultural space that encompasses both online and offline aspects.
