2026 지방선거를 앞두고 사회대전환 전북연대회의 선거대책위원회가 노동당·녹색당·정의당 등 진보3당 지방선거 후보들에 대한 지지를 호소했다.

'2026 지방선거 승리! 사회대전환 전북연대회의 선대위'는 20일 오전 10시 전라북도의회 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열고 "민주당 일당독점 정치를 타파하고 평등·평화·생태의 가치로 전북을 대전환해야 한다"고 밝혔다.

이날 기자회견 참가자들은 "지난 30년 동안 더불어민주당의 일당독점 구조 속에서 전북이 무엇을 얻었는지 되물어야 한다"며 "견제 없는 권력은 오만했고, 도민의 삶은 개발주의와 성장주의의 뒷전으로 밀려났다"고 주장했다.

이들은 "더 이상 묻지마 투표로 우리의 미래를 맡길 수 없다"며 "내란 세력을 심판하는 것에서 멈추지 않고, 지역의 일당독주 기득권 구조를 바꾸는 것이 진정한 사회대전환의 출발"이라고 강조했다.

사회대전환 전북연대회의는 기자회견문을 통해 "제9회 전국동시지방선거가 2주 뒤로 다가왔다"며 "광장의 시민들이 윤석열 내란 세력을 물러나게 한 투쟁은 단순한 정권교체 요구가 아니라 새로운 민주공화국을 향한 염원이었다"고 밝혔다.

이어 "그러나 이재명 정부에서 사회대개혁의 요구와 실현은 점차 힘을 잃어가고 있다는 우려가 있다"며 "친자본적인 보수 양당 구조로는 지역 시민의 삶의 문제를 해결할 수 없다"고 지적했다.

이들은 특히 전북 정치의 민주당 독점 구조를 강하게 비판했다. 사회대전환 전북연대회의는 "이번 지방선거를 앞두고 민주당 독점인 전북 정치의 폐해가 더욱 적나라하게 드러났다"며 "민주당 지자체장의 독선으로 시민과 더불어 살아가던 생태하천이 뒤집어엎어졌고, 의회는 견제와 감시 기능을 사실상 상실했다"고 주장했다.

또 "기초의원이 부당하게 수당을 챙겨왔다는 사실이 드러나는 등 기본적인 도덕성 문제도 확인됐다"며 "무엇보다 민주당 전북도지사 후보 경선 과정은 시민들을 더욱 참담하게 만들었다"고 비판했다.

이들은 30년 이상 지속된 일당독점 정치구조가 주민들의 삶과 존엄, 기본권을 후퇴시켰다고 주장했다. 장애인과 교통약자의 이동권 문제, 새만금 개발로 인한 연안 주민들의 고통, 초고압 송전선로로 삶의 터전을 위협받는 농산어촌 주민들, 공공서비스와 일자리 부족으로 지역을 떠나는 청년들, 차별과 혐오에 노출된 여성과 성소수자 문제 등을 대표 사례로 들었다.

사회대전환 전북연대회의는 "지역을 낙후시키는 근본 원인이 일당독점 정치에 있음을 확인하고 있다"며 "이를 해체하고 개혁하는 길이 전북을 살리는 길"이라고 밝혔다.

또한 "내란은 단지 계엄세력을 심판하는 것으로 종식되지 않는다"며 "지역과 일상에서 차별과 불평등을 재생산해 온 기득권 구조를 타파하고, 시민들의 요구를 아래에서부터 실현하는 것이 진정한 내란의 종식"이라고 주장했다.

이들은 "적대적 공생 구조인 보수 양당 체제 속에서 민주당 일당독점의 전북 정치는 도민들에게 계속 실망을 안겼고, 정치의 다양성은 퇴색됐다"며 "이제 지역에서부터 바꿔야 한다"고 호소했다.

끝으로 사회대전환 전북연대회의는 "정치에서 배제되었던 지역 주민들에게 희망을 만들고, 그 힘으로 평등·평화·생태의 사회대전환을 만들어 가겠다"며 "사회대전환 후보들의 지방선거 승리가 그 시작이 될 것"이라고 밝혔다.

이날 기자회견에는 임소희 노동당 전주시의원 비례대표 후보, 강윤희 정의당 전북도의원 비례대표 후보, 오현숙 정의당 전주시의원 차선거구 후보, 한승우 정의당 전주시의원 마선거구 후보 등이 참석했다.

Ahead of the 2026 local elections, the Election Strategy Committee of the Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance called for support for progressive candidates from the Labor Party, Green Party, and Justice Party.

The "2026 Local Election Victory! Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance Election Strategy Committee" held a press conference at 10 a.m. on the 20th at the briefing room of the Jeollabuk-do Provincial Council, stating, "We must overthrow the Democratic Party's monopoly politics and transform Jeonbuk into a region of equality, peace, and ecology."

Participants at the press conference on that day argued, "We must question what Jeonbuk has gained in the past 30 years under the Democratic Party's monopoly structure," and claimed, "Unbridled power was arrogant, and the lives of residents were pushed aside by developmentalism and growth-oriented policies."

They emphasized, "We can no longer entrust our future to blind voting," and stated, "Judging the rebellious forces is not enough; changing the monopolistic power structure in the region is the true start of social transformation."

Through a press release, the Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance stated, "The 9th simultaneous local elections nationwide are just two weeks away," and declared, "The struggle that drove Yoon Suk-yeol's rebellious forces away from the square was not just a demand for a simple change of power but an aspiration towards a new democratic republic."

They expressed concerns that the demands and realization of social reforms under the Lee Jae-myung government are gradually losing strength, pointing out that the problems of residents' lives cannot be solved by a pro-capital conservative dual-party structure.

In particular, they strongly criticized the Democratic Party's monopoly structure in Jeonbuk politics. The Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance argued, "The harm of the Democratic Party's monopoly in Jeonbuk politics has become even more evident ahead of this local election," and claimed, "Ecological streams that residents lived with, under the autocracy of Democratic Party local government heads, were overturned, and the council practically lost its function of oversight and monitoring."

Furthermore, they criticized, "Basic ethical issues have been confirmed, such as grassroots members unfairly receiving allowances," and said, "Above all, the Democratic Party's Jeonbuk gubernatorial candidate selection process has made citizens even more despondent."

They claimed that the over 30-year-long monopoly politics have pushed back the lives, dignity, and basic rights of residents. They cited examples such as the mobility issues of people with disabilities and transportation-disadvantaged individuals, the suffering of coastal residents due to the Saemangeum development, rural residents threatened by high-voltage power lines, young people leaving the region due to lack of public services and jobs, and issues faced by women and sexual minorities exposed to discrimination and hatred.

The Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance confirmed that the fundamental cause of regional underdevelopment lies in the monopoly politics and stated, "Dismantling and reforming this is the path to saving Jeonbuk."

They argued, "Rebellion does not end simply by judging martial law forces," and claimed, "Ending true rebellion is dismantling the privileged structures that have reproduced discrimination and inequality in regions and daily life, and realizing citizens' demands from below."

They appealed, "The Democratic Party's monopoly in Jeonbuk politics, within the adversarial symbiotic structure of conservative dual parties, has continuously disappointed residents and political diversity has faded," and urged, "It is time to make changes starting from the local level."

Finally, the Social Transformation Jeonbuk Alliance stated, "We will create hope for local residents who have been excluded from politics and work towards a society of equality, peace, and ecology with their strength," and declared, "The victory of social transformation candidates in the local elections will be the beginning."

At the press conference that day, Lim So-hee, a proportional representative candidate for the Labor Party in Jeonju, Kang Yoon-hee, a proportional representative candidate for the Justice Party in Jeonbuk, Oh Hyun-sook, a candidate for the Jeonju City election district for the Justice Party, and Han Seung-woo, a candidate for the Ma election district in Jeonju City for the Justice Party, were in attendance.
