Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province is finalizing a policy study to establish support measures for lifelong education tailored to different stages of life, from learning for individuals with boundary intelligence to career development, occupation, and adult independence, and is working on specifying future support directions.

On the 28th, the province held a final report meeting for the "Survey Research Project for Establishing a Basic Plan for Lifelong Education for Individuals with Boundary Intelligence," sharing key research findings and discussing future directions for lifelong education support.

This research project was conducted by the Jeonbuk Research Institute starting from March to identify the living conditions and lifelong education demands of individuals with boundary intelligence and to explore tailored support measures for each stage of life. It was analyzed that tailored learning considering individual learning pace and cognitive characteristics, as well as social and emotional support, are necessary during school age, while lifelong education related to real-life aspects such as career planning, vocational skills, social adaptation, and independent living are necessary during adulthood.

In response, the research team proposed key policy tasks such as early detection and collaboration with specialized institutions, lifelong education tailored to each stage of life, career development and independence support, family support, training of professionals, and strengthening collaboration among education, welfare, counseling, and employment agencies within the region.

The meeting was attended by provincial officials, education authorities, experts in lifelong education and neuroscience, officials from the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Lifelong Education Scholarship Promotion Foundation, and researchers who shared the research results and exchanged opinions on matters to be reflected in future policies.

The province plans to comprehensively review the research results and expert opinions to establish a basic plan for lifelong education for individuals with boundary intelligence and utilize them as foundational data to specify related policies.
