전주시 다가여행자도서관은 20일 안시내 작가를 초청해 ‘여행은 혼자일 때 가장 선명해진다’를 주제로 강연을 진행했다.

이번 강연은 여행 특화 도서관인 다가여행자도서관이 혼자 떠나는 여행에 대한 시민들의 막연한 두려움을 해소하고, 여행을 통해 개인의 삶과 태도가 어떻게 변화하는지 깊이 있게 들여다볼 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련했다.

안시내 작가는 △악당은 아니지만 지구정복 △여행이라는 일 △행복은 언제나 당신의 편 등 다수의 책을 저술한 베스트셀러 작가로, 이번 강연에서 다양한 대륙을 홀로 여행하며 겪은 사례를 바탕으로 온전히 자신에게 집중하는 ‘나홀로 여행’의 가치를 전달했다.

안 작가는 아프리카와 인도, 발리 등 세계 오지를 여행하며 쌓은 풍부한 경험은 물론, 아프리카 최고봉인 킬리만자로(5895m) 정상을 등반한 독특한 이력을 보유하고 있다.

이영섭 전주시 도서관평생학습본부장은 “앞으로도 다가여행자도서관에서는 여행자들을 위한 다채로운 인문학 프로그램을 지속적으로 선보일 것”이라며 “이를 통해 여행을 사랑하는 사람들에게 큰 영감을 줄 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.

On the 20th, the Daga Traveler Library in Jeonju City invited author Ahn Shin-ae to give a lecture on the theme "Travel is most vivid when done alone."

This lecture was organized by the Daga Traveler Library, a library specializing in travel, to alleviate the vague fears of citizens about traveling alone and to provide an opportunity to deeply explore how individual lives and attitudes can change through travel.

Author Ahn Shin-ae, known for best-selling books such as "Not a Villain but Conqueror of the Earth," "Travel as a Job," and "Happiness is Always on Your Side," shared the value of 'solo travel,' where one focuses entirely on oneself, based on experiences from traveling alone across various continents.

Ahn, who has traveled to remote places like Africa, India, and Bali, possesses a unique background of rich experiences, including summiting Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m), the highest peak in Africa.

Lee Young-seop, Director of the Jeonju City Library's Lifelong Learning Division, stated, "In the future, the Daga Traveler Library will continue to present diverse humanities programs for travelers," adding, "It is expected that this will provide great inspiration to those who love traveling."
