보건복지부(장애인정책국)은 15일 전주시를 방문해 장애인 지역사회 자립지원 시범사업 운영 현장을 점검했다.

이번 현장 방문에는 차전경 장애인정책국장과 박문수 장애인정책과장, 전북특별자치도 담당자, 장애인개발원 중앙장애인지역사회통합지원센터 관계자 등이 참석했다.

이들은 전주시 담당 공무원 및 수행기관 전담인력과 함께 사업 현황을 공유하고, 추진 성과에 대해 논의했다.

구체적으로, 이들은 먼저 중증장애인자립생활연대(덕진구 아중로 136)에서 자립지원 사업 현황 발표를 청취하고, 이어 자립지원주택을 방문해 자립생활을 실천하고 있는 2명의 장애인 대상자를 격려했다.

이에 앞서 시는 지난 2022년부터 장애인 자립지원 시범사업을 추진해 왔다. 이 사업은 자립을 희망하는 장애인의 주거결정권을 보장하고, 지역사회에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있는 생활 기반을 조성하는 것이 핵심이다.

김선호 전주시 장애인복지과장은 “이번 시범사업은 장애인이 지역사회에서 자립을 위한 중요한 첫걸음이며, 2027년 본사업 준비를 철저히 해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

On the 15th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Disability Policy Division) visited Jeonju to inspect the operation of a pilot project for supporting the independent living of disabled individuals in the local community.

The site visit was attended by Director Cha Jeong-gyeong of the Disability Policy Division, Park Mun-soo, head of the Disability Policy Department, officials from Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and personnel from the Central Disability Community Integration Support Center.

They shared the progress of the project with the local government officials and staff members of the implementing agencies and discussed the achievements made.

Specifically, they first listened to a presentation on the status of independent living support projects at the Severe Disability Independent Living Alliance (136 Aju-ro, Deokjin-gu), and then visited independent living homes where they interacted with two disabled individuals practicing independent living.

The city has been promoting the pilot project for supporting the independent living of disabled individuals since 2022. The project aims to guarantee the housing decision-making rights of disabled individuals who aspire to live independently and to create a stable living foundation for them to settle in the local community.

Kim Seon-ho, head of the Jeonju City Disability Welfare Department, stated, "This pilot project is an important first step for disabled individuals towards independence in the local community, and we will thoroughly prepare for the main project by 2027."
