노동당 기호 6번 전주시의회 비례대표 임소희 후보가 노동당 이백윤 대표와 함께 현대자동차 노동조합 전주공장위원회를 찾아 간담회를 가졌다. 임 후보는 AI와 로봇 도입이 일상화되는 시대에 노동권 보호를 위한 제도적 장치 마련의 필요성을 강조했다.

이날 간담회는 20일 오후 2시, 현대자동차 노조 전주공장위원회 회의실에서 진행됐다.

간담회에서는 새만금 지역의 AI와 로봇 산업 추진 등으로 산업이 변화하는 과정에서 노동자의 권리와 고용 안정이 어떻게 보장될 수 있는지가 핵심 주제로 논의됐다.

임소희 후보는 “제 명함 뒷면에는 ‘AI시대, 노동의 가치를 지킵니다’라는 슬로건이 적혀 있다”며 “전주시의회에 진출하면 AI 관련 노동권 보호 조례 제정에 나서겠다”고 밝혔다.

임 후보가 내세운 조례 제정 공약의 핵심은 산업 현장에 AI나 로봇 기술이 도입될 때 노동자가 직접 참여하고 의견을 낼 수 있도록 그 절차를 제도적으로 보장하는 것이다. 기술 도입 과정이 기업만의 일방적 결정으로 진행되는 것이 아니라, 실제 현장에서 일하는 노동자의 경험과 의견이 충분히 반영되어야 한다는 취지이다.

이는 업무 배분이나 성과 평가, 노동 감시 등에 활용되는 AI 알고리즘이 투명하고 민주적으로 운영되어야 함을 포함하고 있다. AI가 노동자를 통제하거나 감시하는 수단이 아니라, 노동자의 권리와 안전을 보장하는 방향으로 사용되어야 한다는 설명이다.

아울러, 기술 변화로 구조조정이나 고용 축소가 발생할 경우 노동자의 피해를 줄일 수 있는 사회적 안전망도 함께 만들어야 한다고 덧붙였다. 직무 전환 교육과 고용 유지 대책, 노동자 보호 기준 등을 지방정부 차원에서 제도화하겠다는 입장이다.

임소희 후보는 “AI와 로봇 기술이 앞으로 큰 변화를 불러올 것은 분명하지만, 이런 변화가 노동자를 소외시키거나 희생시키는 방식으로 이뤄져서는 안 된다”고 말했다. 이어 “전주시부터 기술 변화의 방향을 노동 존중과 민주적 통제의 원칙 아래 잡아가겠다”고 약속했다.

노동당은 이번 간담회를 계기로, 산업 전환기 노동권 보호를 지역 정치의 주요 의제로 던지고, 전주시의회 비례대표 선거에서 노동자의 삶과 권리를 제대로 대변하는 정치를 실현하겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

Labor Party candidate number 6, Im So-hee, a proportional representative of the Jeonju City Council, met with the Hyundai Motor Labor Union Jeonju Factory Committee along with Labor Party leader Lee Baek-yoon. Im emphasized the need for institutional measures to protect labor rights in the era where the introduction of AI and robots is becoming commonplace.

The meeting took place at 2 p.m. on the 20th in the meeting room of the Hyundai Motor Union Jeonju Factory Committee.

During the meeting, the discussion focused on how the rights and employment stability of workers can be ensured in the process of industrial transformation due to the promotion of AI and robotics industries in the Saemangeum area.

Im So-hee stated, "The back of my business card reads 'Protecting the value of labor in the AI era,'" and expressed her intention to work on enacting regulations related to AI labor rights protection once she enters the Jeonju City Council.

The core of Im's pledge for enacting regulations is to ensure that when AI or robot technology is introduced in the industrial site, workers can directly participate and express their opinions in a systematic way. The idea is that the process of technology introduction should not be a unilateral decision by companies but should sufficiently reflect the experiences and opinions of workers actually working on the site.

This includes the necessity for AI algorithms used in tasks distribution, performance evaluation, labor surveillance, etc., to be transparent and democratically operated. It is explained that AI should be used not as a means to control or monitor workers but in a direction that guarantees the rights and safety of workers.

Furthermore, it was added that in case of structural adjustments or job reductions due to technological changes, a social safety net should be created to minimize the damage to workers. It is a position to institutionalize job transition education, employment retention measures, labor protection standards, etc., at the local government level.

Im So-hee stated, "It is certain that AI and robot technology will bring about significant changes in the future, but such changes should not marginalize or sacrifice workers." She promised, "Starting from Jeonju City, I will steer the direction of technological change under the principles of respecting labor and democratic control."

The Labor Party, taking this meeting as an opportunity, expressed its intention to make labor rights protection during the industrial transition a major issue in local politics and to realize politics that properly represent the lives and rights of workers in the proportional representative election of the Jeonju City Council.
