전북교육청이 농촌유학 확대와 특성화고 국제반 설치 등을 통해 ‘전북유학’ 정책을 본격 추진한다.

전북교육청은 천호성 교육감의 핵심 공약인 전북유학 확대와 구체적인 실행 방안 마련을 위해 26일 ‘전북유학 추진단(TF) 8월 정기회’를 개최했다.

추진단은 교육계와 지역사회, 지자체 관계자 등 15명으로 구성됐으며 오는 12월까지 매월 정기회의와 필요에 따른 임시회의를 열어 관련 정책을 구체화할 예정이다.

농촌유학 분야에서는 운영학교와 유학생 신청·운영기준 개선, 관련 조례 보완, 신규 사업 발굴, 시·군 협력 테마형 교육과정 개발 등을 논의한다.

올해 1학기 기준 전북 농촌유학생은 도내 44개 학교에서 333명이 생활하고 있다. 전북교육청은 지역과 학교 특성을 반영한 테마형 교육과정을 확대하고 안정적인 거주시설을 확보해 유학생을 늘린다는 방침이다.

국제유학 분야에서는 특성화고 국제반 설치를 목표로 외국인 유학생 운영 매뉴얼 개발, 운영학교와 대상 국가 선정, 해당 국가 공공기관과의 업무협약 등을 단계적으로 추진한다.

천호성 교육감은 “전북유학은 학생들에게 전북만의 특색 있는 교육 기회를 제공하고 인구 감소로 위기를 겪는 지역에는 새로운 활력을 불어넣는 상생 교육정책”이라며 “현장 의견을 충분히 반영해 실행 가능한 정책으로 구체화하겠다”고 말했다.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education is actively promoting the 'Jeonbuk Study Abroad' policy through the expansion of rural study abroad programs and the establishment of specialized high school international classes.

To fulfill the core pledge of Superintendent Chun Hoseong to expand the Jeonbuk Study Abroad program and develop specific implementation plans, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held the 'Jeonbuk Study Abroad Task Force (TF) August Regular Meeting' on the 26th.

The task force, composed of 15 members from the education sector, local communities, and municipal officials, plans to hold regular monthly meetings and ad hoc meetings as needed until December to solidify related policies.

In the field of rural study abroad, discussions will focus on improving the application and operation standards for host schools and study abroad students, enhancing related regulations, exploring new initiatives, and developing cooperative thematic education programs with city and county governments.

As of the first semester of this year, 333 rural study abroad students are residing in 44 schools within the province. The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education aims to expand thematic education programs tailored to the characteristics of the region and increase the number of study abroad students by securing stable residential facilities.

In the international study abroad sector, the goal is to establish specialized high school international classes. This will be achieved through the development of operational manuals for foreign study abroad students, selection of host schools and target countries, and gradual progress in business agreements with public agencies of the respective countries.

Superintendent Chun Hoseong stated, "Jeonbuk Study Abroad provides students with unique educational opportunities specific to Jeonbuk and injects new vitality into regions facing population decline through a mutually beneficial educational policy." He added, "We will solidify feasible policies by thoroughly incorporating on-site feedback."
