무주군이 조선왕조실록 등을 보관했던 적상산사고의 관리 의례를 무형유산으로 계승하기 위한 방안 마련에 나섰다.

무주군은 지난 25일 무주군립최북미술관 다목적영상관에서 ‘적상산사고 관리 의례의 무형유산화와 지역공동체 기반 전승 전략’을 주제로 학술대회를 개최했다.

국가유산청과 전북특별자치도, 무주군이 주최하고 무주문화원과 무형문화연구원이 주관한 이번 학술대회에서는 적상산사고 관리 의례의 역사적 가치와 전승 방안 등이 논의됐다.

홍성덕 전주대학교 교수의 기조강연을 시작으로 신병주 건국대학교 교수, 박대길 우리역사문화연구소장, 김용구 전 한국전통문화교육원장이 적상산사고의 가치와 남북 교류, 지역공동체 기반 전승 방안 등을 발표했다.

이어 허인욱 전북대학교 교수, 김경순 남북역사학자협의회 사무국장, 송민선 충청북도 무형유산위원회 부위원장이 토론에 참여해 관리 의례의 무형유산화와 지속 가능한 전승 방안을 논의했다.

적상산사고는 조선 후기 조선왕조실록과 선원록 등을 보관했던 외사고로, 실록을 옮겨 모시는 봉안·이안과 서책을 꺼내 상태를 점검하고 바람과 햇볕에 말리는 포쇄 등 국가 기록유산 관리 의례가 이뤄졌던 곳이다.

무주군과 무주문화원은 2024년부터 국가유산청 ‘미래 무형유산 발굴·육성사업’에 3년 연속 선정돼 봉안·포쇄 의식 조사와 기록화, 전승 방안 연구, 주민 참여 재연 행사 등을 추진해왔다.

올해는 기존 성과를 바탕으로 디지털 전시와 백서 발간, 재연 행사 운영체계 정비 등을 추진하고 있다.

김영우 무주군 태권문화과장은 “지난 3년간의 조사·기록화 성과를 토대로 관리 의례의 고증과 전승 체계를 구체화해 적상산사고가 무주를 대표하는 역사문화자원으로 자리 잡도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

Muju County has embarked on measures to succeed the management ritual of Jeoksang Sansago, where the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty were stored, as an intangible cultural heritage.

On the 25th, Muju County held an academic conference on the theme of 'Intangible Heritage of the Management Ritual of Jeoksang Sansago and Regional Community-Based Succession Strategy' at the Multipurpose Auditorium of Muju County's North Art Museum.

At this conference, organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration, Jeollabuk-do Province, and Muju County, and hosted by Muju Cultural Center and Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute, discussions were held on the historical value and succession strategies of the management ritual of Jeoksang Sansago.

Starting with a keynote lecture by Professor Hong Seong-deok of Jeonju University, followed by presentations by Professor Shin Byeong-joo of Konkuk University, Park Dae-gil, Director of Our History and Culture Research Institute, and Kim Yong-gu, former director of the Korean Traditional Culture Education Institute, on the value of Jeoksang Sansago, inter-Korean exchanges, and community-based succession strategies.

Subsequently, Professor Heo In-wook of Jeonbuk University, Kim Gyeong-soon, Director of the North-South Historians Association, and Song Min-seon, Deputy Director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee of Chungcheongbuk-do, participated in discussions on the intangible heritage of the management ritual and sustainable succession strategies.

Jeoksang Sansago was an external office that stored the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty and the Genealogy of the Seonwon during the late Joseon period, where national heritage management rituals, such as moving and drying the records, were performed.

Since 2024, Muju County and Muju Cultural Center have been selected for three consecutive years for the Cultural Heritage Administration's 'Future Intangible Heritage Exploration and Cultivation Project,' conducting rituals, documentation, succession strategy research, and community participation events.

This year, based on previous achievements, they are working on digital exhibitions, publication of white papers, and improving the operation system of reenactment events.

Kim Young-woo, head of the Taekwon Cultural Department of Muju County, said, "Based on the results of the past three years of research and documentation, we will solidify the authentication and succession system of the management ritual to establish Jeoksang Sansago as a representative historical and cultural asset of Muju."
